[Fidel: ¿Cubano? Tú no eres Cubano. Cubanos son estos, y soy argentino. Cubano es el Che. Tú eres un entrometido... Que estas viviendo como mercenario.. es lo que tú eres]

Background:
Doctor Hilda Molina- a leading Cuban neurosurgeon who has grandchildren in Argentina. She balked when the Cuban government, looking to make dollars from Medical Tourism, asked her to kick out Cuban patients from her hospital to make room for foreign medical tourists paying in dollars. She was ostracized for this and not permitted to leave the country, even though Argentine President Kirschner personally gave Castro a letter last week at the Mercosur summit in Argentina asking Fidel to allow her to come to Argentina [which reportedly pissed off Fidel]

Juan Manuel Cao- Cuban born reporter for WJAN Channel 41 spanish language television in Miami

Fidel Castro- [former] leader of Cuba

Starting at 1:37 in the video- Castro is walking past reporters at the Mercosur summit in Argentina last week:

Juan Manuel Cao: ""Why don't you free Doctor Hilda Molina? Why don't you let her come to Argentina and reunite with her grandchildren?"

Fidel Castro:"What's your name?"

Juan Manuel Cao: "My name is Juan Manuel Cao. I am Cuban"

Fidel Castro: "YOU are Cuban?"

Juan Manuel Cao: "Yes, I am Cuban. Why don't you free Doctor Hilda Molina? Why don't you let her come to Argentina to be with her grandchildren?"

Fidel Castro: "Who is paying you to come here and ask questions like that?"

Juan Manuel Cao: "Nobody is paying me...to ask questions- that is my job."

Fidel Castro: [answering a question from another reporter] "Because the friends of that guy [pointing to Cao] that was asking me that question...could be planning to assasinate me- they've been trying for 40 years."

not clear if Cao is asking this or maybe from another reporter: "Commander-in-chief, are you preparing a transition in order for you to relinquish your powers?"

Fidel Castro to Cao:"I already asked you- who is paying you? You don't let anyone else speak. Why don't you go find Bush and ask him about [Luis] Posada Carriles...and the crimes he has committed in YOUR country? Cuban? You're no Cuban! These are Cubans [pointing to his bodyguards]. I am Argentinean Che Guevara is Cuban. You are an interloper... who is living the life of a mercenary. THAT'S what you are!"

[at this point Fidel's handlers and bodyguards are trying to sprint him away from the reporters, as he is clearly flipping his lid and spouting nonsense]

NWOG, almost every single post you make is either critical, or comes across as sarcastic, answering a question not by replying to it, but by asking another question.

Just something I've picked up on.

You seem to be on the side of the traitors in miami.

I kind of thought we were supposed to criticize Cuba, the USSR, and other semi-socialist countries. Or do you mean to say that Cuba is communist already? Sure doesn't look stateless and classless to me. Remember, Cuba isn't perfect, and neither is Venezuela.

There's a difference between well-informed and sincere criticism, and simply accepting anything from the Miami scum as the truth, while denouncing any counter-arguments as Castro propaganda.

Anyway, no idea what this is about. Fidel probably should have chilled out, but that's all I say until I hear some background from a reliable source(i.e., not NWOG).

I was watching it on channel 41 here. How has he lost his mind? The reporter is a litle gusano for channel 41 (most biased news station here). Fidel got mad. nothing huge. and it was funny "pegale comandante!!"...good stuff...and he was stating that reporter was no Cuban, and he was right, that reporter sides with poeple like Bush and Cariles, who carried out terrorist attacks against Cuba...but this dudes concern is always something anti-castro

Well the comment:

"I am Argentinean Che Guevara is Cuban." didn't seem quite sane...

No, but like always, its edited
Anyone can edit and "retouch" videos, a common practice in bourgeoisie media

Bsides, whose to say that Fidel wasn't playing with him?
I think this belongs in chit chat my friend, for it does nothing but stir up conspiracy theories and the like

How does this help us defeat capitalism again??

It probably doesn't. Just as the genitelia threads in Chit Chat doesn't defeat capitalism. Just as you eating a pizza or nudles from a rice bowl doesn't help to defeat capitalism.

By the way, who are we? Most people in the West today are pro-capitalists. So you can't be talking of the people, can you?

No, but like always, its edited

Proof?

My intentions aren't to offend you, but sometimes I (and most likely, most of the people in these forums) get the feeling that you aren't leftist at all. I mean damn, I live in Miami, i'm used to hearing negative talk about Fidel Castro and Cuba. And I will let you know that you sound like one of those gusanos everytime you post a thread about Castro or Cuba. Maybe you are anti-castro. Who knows?

And Fidel isn't loosing his mind, he is actually making moves. Last week he established trade relations with Brasil, Argentina, and other Latin American countries. He just handed power over to his brother to avoid Cuba from falling apart. And the comment made about Che (Yo soy argentino, Che era Cubano), I believe comrade Matthijs said it best, look up the definition of internationalism, it seems to me like you don't know the meaning of the word.

As my brother solitary mind said, Channel 41 is a news station that was founded by the Cuban Exiles here in Miami. Just the other day they gave a "documentary" on el commandante Cheguevara talking about how much of a cold blooded assasin, terrorist, and racist he was. They even did a fake voice over on the speech the man gave at the U.N It was horrible and the most biast piece of shit I have ever seen.

Fidel Castro had every right to blow off on that gusano. The man was trying to make him look bad in front of people who support him on a story in which the facts are twisted up.

So do us all a favor and post threads about issues that are actually worth talking about, rather than sounding like un gusano posting negative threads about Cuba.

I mean damn, for that you get rid of your membership on Revolutionary Left and talk about Cuba and Fidel Castro in the Opposing Ideologies section of this forum.
