Missing Weapons Of Mass Destruction
Is Lying About The Reason For War An Impeachable Offense?

by John W. Dean

"President George W. Bush has got a very serious problem. Before asking Congress for a Joint Resolution authorizing the use of American military forces in Iraq, he made a number of unequivocal statements about the reason the United States needed to pursue the most radical actions any nation can undertake - acts of war against another nation. "

"Now it is clear that many of his statements appear to be false. In the past, Bush's White House has been very good at sweeping ugly issues like this under the carpet, and out of sight. But it is not clear that they will be able to make the question of what happened to Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) go away - unless, perhaps, they start another war."

Heh. Looks like old dubyas' got a little situation on his hands. LOL Seeing a republican president impeached for good reason, especially after the Clinton ordeal, would be sweet.

YES
He started a damn war, folks! And with no justification, apparently. I would impeach him for that, but it seems completely out of the question as of right now. This thing he mentions of Bush perhaps starting another war, kinda fraeks me out. He doesn't elaborate very much on that though, what exactly does he mean?

The reason why Bush won't get impeached is because the american people, as well as their 'representative', would feel that a move to remove from office a man known as a hero against terrorism, would be a move against the war on terrorism. Americans would feel unpatriotic to do something against a man who is such a patriot for 'protecting our freedoms' and such. Americans love Dubaya. :(

In theroy it is, because his basis for war was the WMD's.

But they have successfuly ousted a brutal dictatorial regime. So long as Iraq gets reconstructed properly, then techincally, the war was justified.

Legalistically, probably not. As he wasn't under oath.

Politically, forget about it.

Did Kennedy get impeached after his UN Ambassador, Stevenson, falsely claimed that the planes that had just bombed Cuba were defecting from the Revolutionary Air Force? (An incident that happened just before Bay of Pigs/Playa Giron.)

No president has ever been deposed for lies that served the ruling class.

And for us to focus on this demand would be backhanded support to the Democrats, who are just as much of a war party.

Thank god some enlightened people are aying this. I go to school at FSU and I say this in my classes and everyone looks at me like I'm crazy. Ignorance is the disease that allowed this war to go on. The American blindly followed a "beast" (speech 1), well 75% anyway. I just hope that Americans can be as patriotic as they can be and throw the SOB in jail! Real patriotism is oppising the govornment not renaming fast food.

You cannot simultaneously prevent and prepare for war. Albert Einstein.

It's funny how when Clinton lied about a personal affair, the conservatives managed to get him impeached, but when Bush lied about WMD and caused a war that killed tens of thousands of people, the conservatives call anyone who calls for Bush's impeachment a "traitor" or "anti-American."

if bush with his bastard puppet handlers didnt wholely represent BIG business he probably would get impeached. but dont forget that this war is completely about continuing and furthering americas global dominance. as was clearly layed out in rumsfeld and his PANC chums doctrine.

bush is a liar! theres 30 of em right here
