This picture disturbed me. http://www.commondreams.org/headlines06/images/0720-03.jpg
Just out of curiosity, anybody know what they were writing on the shells? It's just to twisted, the kind of stuff you won't see in the U.S. media. I am really angry and sad about the situation. :(

Yeah, there was a really good article about this... which I can't find now. But basically it talked about Israeli war mongerers writing hateful slogans on the bombs...

By the way Molotov, did you realize there is a thread for photos of the invasion of Lebanon?
I thought it topical electronic intifada's comment on this 'Palestinian's teach their children to hate'...
What the fuck are Israel doing here?

It's one long, endless, violent cycle--- that Arab-Israeli conflict.

Its some kind of present from the Israeli children to the Lebanese children, something mysterious like "when this gift opens, you will see"

It's definitely a sick act to have children write messages on bombs. This is probably true in any situation, but especially true with the Israeli aggression.

Not that this matter for much, because of my anti-American views, but durring world war 2 American Children also colored bombs to drop on the enemies.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v287/CheesePuffKinge/zionistscs4.jpg

That picture does not look like it was taken in the 1940s, "littlemao".

^ I think he's trying to compare how during WW2, American or Allied children wrote messages on bombs, and how 60 some odd years later, Israeli children do the same
I agree, sad and pitiful to see so much hate amongst "neighbors"

This isn't hate. This is a really twisted way of desensitising children to violence. It's part of the 'we do no wrong'/'it's for their own good' message.

Well, one of many of the ingredients in this desensitizing campaign is obviously hate

I think it's not exactly the same way round. Hate and desensitising are both part of a greater legitimising campaign. In fact, I'd say there's an interesting antagonism between hatred and desensitisation. Violence, having become so impersonal and clinical in the media, fails to sate the desire for 'revenge' - in other words, the desensitisation makes sure that any amount of violence is insufficient, and ends up fuelling hatred.
