You may be wondering what someone would be doing in Opposing Ideologies, truth is I've come to listen and to learn more about what anarchists, socialists, and communists stand for. Truth be told I do not know a whole lot about Marxism, firsthand or otherwise, I know some of its basic principles but I don't feel that is enough. My political leiniance is paleo-conservative, as I feel American politicians have lost touch with what conservatism really means, I am not a racist or homophobe, I am an ardent supporter of same-sex marriage. Please remember that I am not here to make trouble or to 'shake the politics' here, I'm here to learn. :)

It's a pen name of one of Yuan Shu's generals in Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

Wow...interesting and non-provokative, better than most things I've read about Communism but it sounds more like a travel broschure for a luxurious country rather than a political pamphlet. I see more now why we have our political differences, my biggest problem with it is the "purpose of the police" according to this, most policement I've met stand for law and order and are just out there doing their job. I've never seen a protest for Communism or a local 'revolution' so I'd dismiss the notion that that's what they are there for "to supress the masses and protect the wealthy".

I'm glad to see that at least someone here has read it. But why Zhang Xun and I'm pretty sure that was his actual name?

The police serve the state and therefore the ruling class. And yes, they have been used and are continued to be used to suppress demonstrations, etc.
