do alot of people seem to think that islamic terrorism and the troubles in the middle east are all israels fault.

islamic terrorists don't want to get israel out of gaza and the west bank, they want to wipe israel and jews off the map and create an islamic state with sharia law. i support palastine, but a 2-state solution and not the terrorists. but people (not just on here, in society in general) seem to want to make israel a scapegoat for the middle east problems. and it's wrong. the british and americans are to blame just as much, if not more than, israel and people need to look at our history. we occupied palastine before israel, we've occupied egypt, the suez and we've occupied iraq on and off for the last century. we supported and funded the military dictatorship in iran to overthrow democracy in the '50's. and now we occupy iraq and afghanistan. the wounds of the middle east run deep, and i just wish people would stop making israel and tony blair the scapegoat and realise we've been the aggressor for centuries and now it's bitting us in the ass.

It's interesting that you should ask this question at the exact moment when the Israeli state is engaged in strategically destroying the Lebonese infrastructure and mudering hundreds of Lebonese civilians in the process.

Of course, you're right, though. The actions of Israel are only really understandable when you look at its connection to Western capitalist interests. The zionist state is propped up economically and militarily by the Western powers; it is protected from sanction by the UN by the same powers. In short, it is a client state, imposed by the West on the peoples of the Middle East.

In return, it serves the function of vicious guard dog for its Western masters.

[Why]do alot of people seem to think that islamic terrorism and the troubles in the middle east are all israels fault.

Because Israel has invaded Palestine and waged war against it's neighbours. It would be another matter if the defended themselves and their territory. But now, they have occupied almost all of Palestine.

islamic terrorists don't want to get israel out of gaza and the west bank, they want to wipe israel and jews off the map and create an islamic state with sharia law.

Of course they want. Wouldn't you be angered if a group of people occupied your home - with the support of the whole world? Why won't Chechnyans have their homeland? Or the Taiwanese? Where is the support for them?

i support palastine, but a 2-state solution and not the terrorists.

So do probably most Palestinians and Israelians. The problem comes when Israel gets to decide how the solution looks like, without considering what Palestinians want.

Creating a new state is only another racist example - they want to "proove" that there are different kinds of people, and that each kind should have their own country. If you ask me, then I believe that what all Jews wanted after hundreds of years of discrimination was recognition of that they too are humans.

Israel (and the US) are to blame for the current mess of Islamic fundamentalism because they were the ones who helped fund it in the early stages, and to completely destroy all of the secular options.
