It's not loading for me for some reason.

So is this a recent event or a historical incident?

recent event...a week ago or so in los angeles cal.

it was at a counter-(racist) minutemen protest.

i was there (althought i did not witness this beating).

the pigs basically decided we had no "right" to counter-protest cause we didnt have a permit, so we went on the sidewalk (no permit needed, or so we thought). the police didnt like being outsmarted so they advanced on us. so typical lap(ig)d action and response.

Yeah I was arrested last Friday at a counter-protest here in my town. There is a group out here called the East Bay Coalition for Border Security that want's to join the minutemen. The cops are definatly working with those racist assholes since whenever they were being hostile the police wouldn't even take a report down but they threw me in a holding cell for hours without me even knowing what I was being detained for. After seeing the footage from L.A, the cop that grabbed me and put pressure on my neck so I couldn't breathe after I told him I did not give him consent to search me seemed like an angel. I wanted to turn around and sock him in the face so bad...I'm happy I controlled my anger for once :D

I agree. I don't like cops because most of the wannbe pigs I meet say they want to be a cop for the authority, donuts, easy work, gun etc. but never once have I heard it was to help society.

Many police officers become cops in the first place because it gives legitimacy to their school yard bullying they used to do to others in elementary school. The rest just accept this outrage because now they have a badge, so they must be a good guy. Wether acting or ignoring, a crime is committed by all of the asses. They have made a pledge to protect and serve, but they just serve their own balloted egos. "A pig is a pig is a pig."

A lot of police officers are perfectly decent people.

Misguided, perhaps, but more or less normal. And great fun at the pub.

For quite a few, it is just a job. Some are actually very altruistic (and thus a fair bit misguided in their career choice).

Don't paint the majority with a reactionary brush just because of bad experiences.

Then again, one of my favorite sayings is "I like cops, except when they are looking at me."

Reactionary, not as PEOPLE. But as a GROUP. ;)

I'd say the statement "All cops deserve to die" would affect them on a personal level, not just a group level. That's what I was responding to, among other things.
