Would he be viewed similarly to Hugo Chavez or in a more negative light?

Probably rather similar to Chavez. We'd recognize Mossadegh as being a progressive, secular, nationalist in that country who could help drive out U.S. and British imperialism from the country and start the development of a primitive capitalist culture (and its concepts of rationality, (illusory) democracy, gender equality, etc.) to go along with its primitive capitalist economic system. It would certainly be a lot better than having a U.S./British lackey or a religious fundamentalist in power.
We might not actively support Mossadegh, but we would also defend Mossadegh against any imperialist aggression.
