Flares?

Does anyone know of any place you can buy flares(not the trouser kind :P ) in "britain".One of the demonstrations i was at for G8 in Edinburgh.Ii remember some of the people had broken away from the police down one of the side streets.Then a few of them turned and lit a couple of red flares and it seemed really kind of symbolic at the time .With them standing there in front of the police with just these flares burning!Unfortunetly i had lost my camera in a scuffle earlier and could not get any pictures. :angry: I know you can get them from certain Yacht/boat places but i was wondering if anyone else knows of any place that they can be purchased.Or any websites you can order from?

I would imagine road flares, and you can get them for about 1.50 us each at http://www.redesupply.com/catalog/product_...products_id=108 (http://www.redesupply.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=108). Im sure that if you looked around you could find some more at a lower price, maybe even a homebrew. I find that at demos, a smoke grenade has a great effect, you light it and toss it, and the smoke is so thick the bobbies, as they're called over by you, can't tell their gas from yours. As for getting them in the first place, any place that sells paintball equipment should carry it.

try and think of places that are gonna have bought heaps of them already - coast guard, sialing schools etc. flares have a use by date, and these places will get rid of them as that date approaches. they'll still work fine - you might get lucky and pick up some out of date ones really cheap/free
