after spending 6 hours researching for my own trial, i've realised that the last year studying law has actually proved to not be completely useless - i actually have fairly decent skills in legal research.

SO if anyone in nsw gets into any trouble, lemme know and i can try and help you out! at least until you get a proper (free) lawyer (i also know some ok lawyers who may do it pro bono if they like ya ;))

Good idea, Duty solicitors are generally useless.

If you can find a left wing legal eagle who will take you on for free then go with that!

I think that Victorian law is going to be the next state that I learn a bit about. That is if I goto the G20 ...

I have found that it is not that hard to come up with a decent defence, if it is obvious that you didn't do it. Most of the laws that I have read for court cases have been fairly easy to understand, as have the other ones I have read just in case.

Anyway, hopefully this system will go the way of the dodos and dinosaurs so we won't have to worry.

Martov: You should have a look at the Aus/NZ thead in Introductions, lots of Aussies 'round here.
