The Founding Fathers of the US took part in the "birth" of the US and signed some documents. They worked in their own interests in order to bring about a bourgeois coup.

Actually our critique is economic. We don't focus on the fact that they were slave owners as that was common at the time. And I personally don't use subjective words like "evil" to critique people. I use a rational arguement.

you're taking the wrong approach to this. the founders of the united states are considered founding fathers because they actually founded something. You just cited some people that some people on the forum may see as symbols of the left and socialism as "founding fuckers" as you so eloquently put it. I personally and I think many others here don't idolize them as people tend to idolize and symbolize the founding fathers. The truth is that the founding fathers of the US were towards the left and to act as if the modern US is their vision of what the US was supposed to be is delusional. They believed in personal freedoms (even though they owned slaves, sweet irony) smaller government and many other ideals that are certainly more common to the left than the right on a realistic basis. You've been successful at nothing but making yourself look idiotic and generalizing everyone in the left as some sometimes do with everyone in the right.

Patents are generally issued for a number of years, with 17 being the most common. This allows one to be recognized and rewarded for their efforts, and not in the long term, control their own invention.

The socialist approach presumes that there will be still be an incentive to achieve. Under socialism, one with an idea better get pretty chummy with a party official, or their supplies and assistance won't be there. Your final comment presumes the inventor WANTS to receive something from others. What if they're all dolts and he's got the right vision.

The creative process, more than any other, is often an individuals creation.

PS. T. Jefferson gave to the public domain many of his inventions and ideas.

As to your arguments, that was actually a good thing that they did not patent, but they would have never argued that you don't have a right to if you want. I believe in intellectual property, though not as much as those idiots who are always sueing people over copyright infringement. As to Ben Franklin, I should have said he was the embodiment of, not capitalism, but free enterprise. You are right that he did not do what he did for money, but free enterprise and capitalism do go hand in hand. As to the idea that the Founding Fathers would have been on the left, well, in this era where the social issues, not the economic ones, are the only things that count, they would have been on the supposed "left" because they did not believe in government intervening in other people's personal lives, as I myself believe. Economically, they were not ultra-right wing free traders, I hand you that. Jefferson hated corporate power, as do I, but that is not the point, he still believed in free markets and free enterprise. Ultimately I would call them fiscally populist, socially libertarian, and isolationists on foreign policy, as am I. All my views are taken from the Founding Fathers. As to the commies though, they had different business. Also, do not accuse me of saying that they would have liked America today, because they wouldn't. Their vision of America, and mine, is of a society made up of agrarians, small traders, and light industry which is peaceful, prosperous, and where justice prevails. Also of a society where people mind their own business and do not meddle with others, nor does government meddle with them unless they harm somebody else, but a person should be able to do anything he wants socially, as long as it does not harm somebody, even if some people think that is immoral. Sadly, America today is not that sight. That's because they put all of their bets behind the revolution in the hopes that it would make them richer. Most of them lost their fortunes due to debt and only a few actually fought.

Any coup plotter would put the same things on the line in order to gain power. They were not moved by altruism, freedom from tyranny was only a slogan used to attract supporters.

Che, on the other hand, was not seeking fame, wealth, or power but the emancipation of the poor and oppressed.

Did any of the founding fathers shun their status in the US to bring "freedom" to another country? Did they really improve the conditions of the Americans? No, because the people who had been wealthy before the revolution remained so after. There was really nothing for the common man but dreams and illusions dangled before them.
