Korea?

I have not been paying any attention to the news lately and someone told me that We're probaly going to war with Korea. Is this true? What's all of the stuff going on with Korea at the moment?

I doubt it.

US forces are far too spread out too hold a full scale war with North Korea.

The US will not be going to war with North Korea for a very long time - not unless they want to play chicken with nuclear weapons (even the strong possibility of nuclear weapons) and not unless they are willing to sustain hundreds of thousands of casualities (which of course they are not).

That the US invades small (in military and geographic terms) states is no coincidence, there is no way that the US could take North Korea in a conventional war given the size, equipment and training of the North Korean military, the terrain they would face, and the fortified nature of Korea's borders - it is a country that has self-defence very much at the front of its mind.

After the disaster in Iraq, the only way that America would attack NK would be if their leaders had no ounce of intelligence or were provoked by an attack in either the US, South Korea, or Japan
Therefore, its still up in the air whether the US will attack

No way they would risk their own existence by attacking their neighbors

Actually the news is talking about it, but that's just to stir uneasiness in the US population.

Nobodies seriously talking about a war with NK, well, no more than they have for the past couple of decades. I dont really think the american government would like a war with north korea at all. The risks arent worth it to them, it wouldnt be as easy a fight as previous wars, North Korea might be a shit country but its army could do sizeable damage if used effectively. I mean ive no doubt america would win, but losses would be unacceptable, and the issue of what to do post-war would be difficult, of course there&#39;d be a large occupation period which is always met with resistance. They just cant be doing with it, its too expensive as well.

The situation with north korea is, and has been for a while like a mini cold war. People like to wave their missles and boats and shit about but nobodies actually going to do anything.

All america will do is keep pressure on the north koreans to disarm possibly in exchange for things they need. After all its no secret that most of north korea is in poverty and starving, eventually its gonna need food and shit.

This missle thing will never become a war. And the scary message of this nasty Tae whatsit 2 missle is just panic mongering. Every country does its best to demonise its enemies and make itself look like the force for good.
