A little research into the tax situation would be a good start. The colonists revolted over taxes which pale in comparison to modern US taxes.
Because what the two parties push is as disconnected from real proletarian need and desire as was King George.
Because the modern wealth divide is truly ridiculous, especially compared to the wealth divide in 1776.
Maybe link together the Seattle WTO protests of 1999 to the Boston Tea Party. Something like globalization being an anti-commonpersonoftheUS agenda.
If I think of more, I'll pipe up.
Just what are you using this flyer for, by the way? Who would you be giving it to?

Somebody should make a mock "Declaration of Independence" from capitalism/imperialism/USA.
I would if I had the time.

Done
"We are the workers of the world. We are the oppressed, the poor, the hungry. We are those who have known no freedom but that which has been given to us from the plate of our Masters. We hereby declare independence from those who wish to keep us down. We declare a Free State one in which equality and freedom reign masters of all. We declare ourselves free from Capital and those who serve it. We bow down to no god or master. We hold our heads high with dignity as we say “Ya Basta!” In this declaration we henceforth declare ourselves to be independent from any State. Due to Capitals Insidious and all-permeating nature we do not establish our own physical State. Instead we create a world of freedom in our own hearts and minds. Wherever we are we are free of the bonds of slaver that not so long ago held us down. We declare ourselves independent and free, unbound by the laws that ensure that we are chained down. We declare ourselves independent of these gods that ensure we remain docile. We declare that the only laws which we will follow are those that will ensure that our freedom will not die. We declare that the only masters or governments we serve and follow are those in our hearts and consciousnesses. Bourgeois, Capitalists, Cops, Oppressors be prepared for we have declared our independence of you and we will fight to protect our precious freedom.
-The People"

Pt.2
"Having taken note of our independence we now ask you to note our grievances and demands. These are many, as many as there are oppressed, beaten down and starving people. However we have reduced these to a more acceptable number.
1. We indentify power and its distribution as the source of many of the problems our brothers and sisters face today. Thus we demand that this power be broken down and redistributed back to the people.
2. We identify material positions as the source of power. Thus we demand a redistribution of this wealth in order for everyone to be able to live in dignity and equality, the two things that ccan guarantee our freedom.
3. We identify the police and armed forces of every country as the force legitimising the conservation of the status quo and as tools of reaction against our freedom. Thus we demand that the standing forces and police of every country be demobilised and their weaponry confiscated and destroyed.
These are our first demands. Non-compliance with these demands will be perceived as an aggressive attitude to our idependence and will place the perpetrators of sucha threat in a de facto state of war with all those that seek freedom."
I guess a regular declaration of independance would have just said "we dont want to be part of your country anymore" but seeing as this isnt exactly a regular declaration... What i did was to identify Capitalism and those who seek to protect it as one country which seeeks to impose its dominion over another: that of the poor, the malnourished and the oppressed.

I'm afarid only 13 year-old anarchists will be moved by this, though.
maybe you guys can overthrow the government
before we begin to stage a revolution, we need to have the power and influence to pose a real threat to the establishment

(something i wrote outta bordom and anger from this thread)
Yall are just sittin here shittin your pants your all in a trance
In a daze cause it’s a maze, so many ways, that it can be done
but that’s half the fun,
Start passin our the flyers, cause we’re in dire straights,
in need of a revolution, don’t tell me to back off and wait,
I’ve been sent to instigate, to choose my own fate,
Cover the land in out material, so they know this shit is fo real
Then we get the support of the people, when we show them the light of being an Anarcho-Commie
Then they see, the need to be free, Then we steal there tea, and throw it in the ocean, so the ones
that need support will know we’re in motion, to make the notion that we have to wait is just telling me to deal with the state,
No Dawg, that ain’t how I roll, I’m gunna fight back, till yall are on track.
I will fly my black flag, as I spray my tag all over the city, don’t want your pity,
I just want you to do all that you can to plan for the immediate future, and lecture
the world with the glory and knowledge until they acknowledge the truth within you and the youth.

raz, don't pay attention to RedZepplin, he's just being rather dull and unimaginative. I found your idea rather... interesting. :D
I think think that a People's Declaration of Independance would be an excellent Idea, but not the moment. Though I rather liked your idea, I believe that Red's realism made good sense. I propose a compromise. First of all, what is needed is material power in the hands of the masses, of the proletariat; then a Declaration of Independance would be in order, but right now we need to keep gaining momentum and solidarity in our movement.

I wasnt actually seriously suggesting this declaration be issued as of right now. that would be like say declaring independance of rocks or the sky: i.e. useless. Also this declaration is not a plan of action. Nothing says you cant both adhere to the declaration and not smash macdonalds every night. baing at war also means being undercover, biding your time and so on. of course we need towait, of coursewe need to gather support.
maybe you guys can overthrow the government
As far as i understand it isnt that rather the point of you know revolution and stuff.

We do need a willingness to 'do the right thing' in the streets if necessary- but FIRST we all need to be on the same sheet of music when it comes to any sort of a 'set of demands' or 'declaration of independence' for the working class.
Action without thought is anarchy in motion- and far more likely to bring about negative results instead the intended result. You don't hold a demonstration without a plan- why should less thought be put into a revolution?
Sadly, though, writing such a draft document will be the easy part. Getting eveyone to sign off on it will be the difficult part- and the point where it will all fall apart if we don't work seriously and collectively to 'git r dun'.

What? Do you know what anarchy means? Anarchy is the absence of hierarchical institutions like capitalism and the state; it is not "action without thought". It is not "chaos and disorder" just because we don't have anybody telling us what to do. Anarchists don't avoid planning for things—they just plan them in an egalitarian, democratic manner. You know, since the revolution is supposed to be about egalitarianism and democracy and stuff.
