The other day in class we were talking about how big corporations once they go public are acessable to be "owned" by ANYONE who buys Stock. So how's that not personal ownership for profit etc.
Anyone of us here can buy some shares right? It belongs to the stockholders not the CEO's

not saying is right or we should. this is again something discussed in class and I wanted to get opinions.

Yeah, anyone can buy shares but who do you think is going to be able to buy more and therefore make a biggest profit someone who makes £15,000 a year or someone who makes £100,000?

Besides all you are doing is investing in wage-slavery, so this way someone is always going to be walked all over to make you rich, that’s my "two cents".

Without a profit to be made in investment, why would anyone invest? If you invest , you stand a decent chance of losing , and none of gaining, in communism.

Why then, would anyone do it?

And I'm not just talking money, but resources in general.

Why should I help you get resources, labor, etc., when you'll probably just fuck up and waste it all, which is how a lot of investments go?

In a post revolutionary society, you wouldn't have to worry about profit because you will already have access to everything you need/want.

That anyone here can buy stock doesn't mean anyone can. Most people don't have access to the resources, even if they do have some share of money.

I do own stocks, but I am still supportive to a change to a sustainable zero-growth society which also is post-economic, i.e. communist.

Ownership of stocks for everyone is bullshit
If you yourself are a wage slave, you probably can't afford too many stocks, if any at all. But let's say your employer gives you stocks. You're not gonna have enough stock to have a significant impact on the board of directors and actually have any power over your rightful capital.

It's basic economics. If you can afford a significant share of the wealth, you're not the one working for it. Capitalism wouldn't exist if it were otherwise.

The CEOs definitely hold a sort of tyrannical control that the stockholders cannot easily take back. What sort of dumbass stockholders would give a CEO a $400 million retirement package like the guy from Exxon got?

"That anyone here can buy stock doesn't mean anyone can. Most people don't have access to the resources, even if they do have some share of money."

Thats a blatant lie. It's not that hard to find a way to buy stock in the yellow pages. Furthermore, if one has the internet and a bank account, the can buy stock without getting off of their asses. And once they do that they can, (ta-da) profit from the exploitation that largely takes place in oppressed nations.

70 percent of people are lacking some sort of basic human necessity. but im sure they can buy stocks, according to your compelling logic.

ACtually, not anyone can buy stock. The system is set up that the average person has to go through a broker. Don't you love how the free market isn't really that free at all?
