Statement by the Communist Party of Israel (CPI)

Stop the IDF crimes in Gaza and the West Bank!

The way to achieve security is by

termination of the Israeli occupation!

The CPI denounces Olmert-Peretz's government, which has aggravated the bloody war against the Palestinian people, especially against the Palestinian inhabitants in the Gaza Strip and kidnapped ministers, members of the parliament and senior Palestinian officers.

During the month of June, the Israeli Army (Tzahal) killed dozens Palestinians , including several children, and now is continuing these crimes by the occupying of large territories of the Gaza Strip with the excuse of releasing the kidnapped soldier. The CPI objects killing of Israeli and Palestinian civilians alike.

CPI calls upon all peace seekers, Jews and Arabs, to denounce the crimes of occupation and to demand the immediate pullout of Tzahal from all parts of the Gaza Strip.

CPI emphasizes once more, that security and peace can only achieved by putting an end to the Israeli occupation, evacuation of all Israeli settlements, establishing an Palestinian independent state alongside Israel, establishing two capitals in Jerusalem and solving the refugee question in accord with the United Nations resolutions.

Hadash (Peace and Democratic Front) and CPI members will take part in a large number of demonstrations during the next days throughout the country, especially in a demonstration called by the veteran refusers of Yesh Gvul, Saturday night in front of the Prime Minister residence in Jerusalem, with the focus on military and political leaders responsible for war crimes. Yesh Gvul plays an active part in trying to bring these military and political leaders to international justice.

Don't be silent, the IDF is only making the war against the Palestinians more agressive...
Demonstrate infront of Israeli embassies! Demonstrate against your goverment if they boycott the Palestinians because of their democratic elections!

Don't just seat there behind your computer's screen...
International protest is effective!

Comforting to see some movement among the folks in Israel. But how large is the ICP, really?

Uhm, didn't the Israeli people elect the system/government in Israel?

Well, capitalism is fucked up anyways. No suprise there.

But doesn't it rather show the "fucked up" attitude of the Israeli people who elected that crap into office?

I'm sorry to correct you, but we (the leftists) are not the majority of the population in Israel.

Many of the people here are nationalists, but most people just say "It's hopless" and let the goverment do what they want. We hope that our actions will convince the public that peace is possible.

Hadash (Democratic Front for Peace and Equality) has 3 Knesset (parliament) members: two of them are communists, one is not.
There are 120 members in the Knesset.

We're not big, but we're an important voice of opposition.

It is great to see Israeli people protesting against occupation.

It would be even greater to see the end of the occupation...

The IDF entered Gaza during the recent days.
More than 40 Palestinians (warriors and civillians) died. One Israeli soldier died.

The Communist Party demonstrated against this action yesterday in Nazareth.
Since I already uploaded many photos, I might as well put photos from that demonstration too.

elections dont mean shit as its capital that dictates the actions of any government.
sad to read you think that democracy means something outside of the dictionary in the modern world.
