Read Political Economy by John Eaton. It's basically an entire synopsis of Capital vol. 1 plus a section on imperialism and socialism. Simple vocab, clearly explained etc. Very good book for n00bs. Helped me a lot back when I read it. It's available from International Publishers for like $8. I dunno what stores sell it. Used on Amazon and elsewhere.

The book requires some basic understanding of Marxism. A general familiarity with terms, concepts and ideas would be very useful, although I wouldn't say necessary.

You could also read Marx's Kapital for Beginners found here (http://www.revolutionaryleft.com/index.php?showtopic=45625).

/\ That book works very well for a rehash too, it only took me like 3 hours to read.

Beautiful.
