Apparently Israel has taken 64 Hamas politicians as prisoners. I can't find this anywhere other than in Norwegian media. Anyone else have more information regarding this?

Yeah i found it in the swedish media, they say 64 leading hamas members were kidnapped or as our media stated, captured. aswell as up to 10 ministers.

Yeah, I read an AP article that mentioned this. The Israeli military is using them as bargaining chips.

why is it that when elected palestinian cabinet members are abducted by Israel, news call it "Arrest", but when palestinian resistance holds a legitimate target such as a military member, they call it "kidnaping"?

The bourgeois news sources are always biased in that way. Also, if Israel were to call it a kidnapping then they would be losing the moral high ground.

I think the reason is that Hamas (or whoever took the soldier) kidnapped him and threatened to kill the soldier.

Israel hold Hamas responsible, and as such, they are under arrest for orchastrating the kidnapping of that Israeli soldier.

It wasnt Hamas, although they did condone the act. I believe it was a combination of Popular Resistance Committe and The Islamic Army.

Those targets were as legitamate as the soldier that was captured by the palistinian's.
