Im not dissing any Communists or Socialists, but im concerned......Isnt it kind of hypocritical for us leftists to be buying stuff from major corporations and paying towards them. For example....Having windows on a computer, buying a fender guitar, having a dell computer, buying at KMart or target. Im just kind of confused...
Please Help,
Thanks.

No.

You can't "live communism" in a capitalist word.

Our goal is to overthrow capitalism, not make corporations "nicer"...but to completely abolish the capitalist mode of production.

Not atall, we argue that people should democratically own the means of production, to make our own food ect. But unfortunately these mechanisms, factories, farms ect are owned directly or indirectly by companies and businesses.

If we don't buy our computers from companies, who do we buy them from? sure second hand is sometimes an option, but the exchange of money for good is still a capitalist process. What about food, housing clothes? we simply can't make enough of this ourselves. Society can, but society is economically capitalist and we have absolutely no choice but to live in this capitalist system.

I reccomend listening to this (http://www.audioanarchy.org/downol/30-Theft.mp3)

Not entirely. It is hypocritical in a greater sense that we conform to their society instead of creating alternatives (self-valorization) and build communism now (dual-power). However, these are faily new concepts that are only starting to enter the field. Right now everybody feels powerless, but gradually, as we can see in recent years, people are starting to feel more power so we will start to seperate ourselves from capitalism and become truely autonomous.

I think that is a really good question, and something I have wondered as well.

I agree. There are still necessities in life, and as things are set up now, in capitalism, there are only certain ways to get them. However, I do think you can make a little bit of a difference by paying attention to what kind of things you purchase. American Apparel, for example, is a clothing store that prides itself on being sweatshop free - although it may still be exploiting its workers somewhat, it is not to the extent that many other retail stores do. Currently, I don't feel like there are many ways around "buying stuff from major corporations"

Hypocrisy is inevitable.

I would agree that it is hypocritical in a sense that we are helping to sustain the capitalist system by doing those types of things. But the thing is that unless we get a majority of people to stop participating in the capitalist system, we can't really change much.

Of course, there are alternatives and little ways in which one can abstain from the capitalist system. You could join a commune or make stuff on your own.
