Hi, my name is Doreen Ellen Bell-Dotan and I live in Tzfat, Israel (yep, full name and place of residence, I have nothing to hide.)

This is a link to the amazing town that I live in: www.safed.co.il

Please do not jump to all kinds of conclusions about me because I am Israeli.

I assure you I am an anarchist and a Socialist through and through. It is a family tradition. One of my granduncles left the US to fight in the Spanish Civil War and gave his life there for what he believed in.

I believe in a no state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Both of our Peoples were set up by the UN Partition Plan of 1947, which was intentionally devised to create ongoing conflict in this area in order to sell weapons and keep the people in this area busy with warfare instead of building. More about that in other posts.

My husband and I were both kibbutznikim. Our children were born on kibbutz. We left because of ideological disappointment with the kibbutz movement. We are encouraged to see that of late young people are forming Anarcho-Socialist collectives all over the country. We hope to be involved in that.

I left the US 24 years ago. As they used to say (still do?): "America, love it or leave it." I did what I felt I had to as someone who could no longer conscience living in the US. I emigrated.

I'm also a citizen of ROI as my father was born in Co. Sligo, but I have never been there. Money that I might spend on a trip there always seems to go for books and educational disks.

I hold a BA in Philosophy from the State University of N.Y. at Stony Brook and an MA in Philosophy from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

I've always enjoyed learning Physics. I don't believe a word or an equation of it, but it makes for a great sound and light show. I have, however, been thinking of how to integrate the early 20th C. discovery of quantum effects into the materialism of Leftist thought. Gustav Landauer's thinking, which has impressed me profoundly, is far more in keeping with what we now understand about the relationship of consciousness and matter than is the thought of Rousseau or Marx.

This is a bit about me, to give you an idea of my areas of interest:
