Unless there is a LTV system, what would be the incentive for people will be to study and spend tons of time on reasearch and experiments for new technology?

Lots of inventions happen by accident or because people have an interest in the field. I believe that the majority of inventions come out of ingenuity and the want to succeed or personal interest rather than commercial interest.

Unless there is a LTV system, what would be the incentive for people will be to study and spend tons of time on reasearch and experiments for new technology?

A few reasons.

For starters, because they love being on the cutting-edge of human progress, finding out new things, developing a better understanding of the natural world.

Moreover, because they want to be *that guy* - the one who figured out a way to do in 10 minutes what had previously taken 30... saving a ton of labour for others, resulting in them responding favourably toward them on a social level.

And finally, because if they didn't then their moms would yell at them.
