Anyway, I'm thinking of changing my political ideology from Communism to Revolutionary Int. Scocialism.

I'm not much of an idology person, but, eh, it's good for conversation, right? :D

Whatdo you guys think?

Personally I am biased against those who call themselves "socialists" at this point. It's just too much of a Trotskyist/reformist buzzword at this point. Though I do know some anarchists who prefer "libertarian socialist" and that still shakes me the wrong way but it at least makes sense.

Anyway I guess the only point of "changing your ideology" is to be able to say you're something other than a communist when people ask. But this doesn't mean you have to change your ideology, you can just word things differently around certain people or say that you refuse to "label" yourself.

What do you see as being the material differences between communism and "revolutionary international socialism"?

Dude not all Trotskyists are reformist,just a few reformist parties call themselves trots.

Personally I am biased against those who call themselves "socialists" at this point.Me too comrade,most people who say they are socialists are reformist.

Anyway LSoR are you doing it because your views have changed or because you get crap if you call yourself a commie?

Sorry, I didn't mean to give the impression that those terms were interchangeable.

Though to be honest since Trots are state capitalists, there's not much keeping me from considering them to be "ultimately" reformist (though that wouldn't be a strictly correct useage).

International Socialism is more moderate than Communism, yet way more extreme than Dem. Socialism.

First, a popular revolution would overthrow the current government. It would create a society far better than that of the one before it. It would be formed in the belly of the old.

In this society, there would be no class. However, their would still be a state. This state would be far more democratic than the mediocre Parlimentary systm. It would be be controled by workers councils, representatives, delegates, or whatever.

The state would only be their to protect the people sothat the strong can not harm the weak (I got that from the code of Hamurabi :rolleyes: ) Also the state would be under the jurisdiction of democracy.

International Socialism is more moderate than Communism I don't see how. I agreed with alot that you advocate for, but we don't choose if we get a "state" or not. Anyway the label you choose doesn't matter it's what side of the class war you take in the event of a revolution. Neither communists in russia or anarchists in spain have stayed on the side of the workers for very long.
