I was just reading about Lahore, in Tariq Ali's book Street Fighting Years, how there used to be a big leftist movement in Lahore. And how, before partition, that Lahore was extremely multicultural and full of life. How is it now? How is the leftist movement in Lahore and Pakistan, in general?

Yes, from what I've read, there used to be a very strong leftist movement, until military repression brought it down.

The ruling class here has been very severe in its repression of the revolutionary Left. They've used everything at their disposal, from military to organised religion.

I'm currently in touch with a few members of the CMKP, even though I'm not a member.
