Kerry

The 2004 presidential selection will be between Bush and Joseph Lieberman (a right-wing Democrat that has been leading in the Democrat primary polls for months and months now).

Umoja
5th May 2003, 01:35
Problem with Liberman is he's Jewish. He wouldn't stand a chance against a giant like Bush.

I can't vote for either one-Lieverman doesn't want no equal rights and/or justice for Palestine.

Tasha

Hey if lieberman runs I might vote republican, no i would vote independent there is no way.

I think Kucinich is the farthest left, but unfortuantely, that is probably why he won't get elected. John Kerry will probably win the nomination. Kerry pretends to be left, has made a few left leaning speeches, but is in reality a centrist democrat. He's from my state, and I still don't think I can vote for him. Having said that.....he's still far and away a better choice than Bush.

He has a couple of things going for him that make him electable in the publics eyes. He was a Vietnam veteran, wounded twice and he has the initials JFK

The Muckraker

Kucinich is without a doubt the most liberal, and the only one who talks about workers' rights. He has no chance of being elected.

Personally, I think Bush is going to win again.

I think so too. Bush will win. He won illegally the last time, he'll do it again. I am sure he will win though, the U$A will always be crap.

Umoja
6th May 2003, 12:24
Then throw your votes towards third parties. This is more favorable to the left, because the more to the right a president is the more people will see the difference between left and right.

<joke> I would vote Bush if I were a Yankee. He's so stupid he's funny. </joke>

Umoja

He intends to be Stupid. It makes "normal" Americans able to relate to him. Al Gore acted arrogant, Bush dumbs himself down publically.

It really dosent matter. The only difference is that the democrats dont have as much of an agressive foreign policy.

Lefty

I hope Kerry, as Lieberman wouldn't improve much of anything, and Bush would make it worse.

This should be in Politics forum! The next President is in the future not the past.

And he made that big comeback, too :)

It's hopeless. I really want Ralph Nader to win the election or some communist or socialist but I think that bush is gonna be the next president.

The problem is that the only half-way decent Democratic contenders have zero charisma. Kuka-what's his name looks like a 6th grader could kick his ass and Gephart (who sucks but has an idea for universal health coverage[lite]) has "LOSER" written all over him!

I'm not exactly an expert on American politics, but as far as I can see, unless the economy goes into serious decline, Bush has won already. I think most people would be shocked about JUST how popular he is currently.

Personally, I think Bush is going to win again.Don't be so sure. Recent polls show that an un-named Democrat would beat Bush 60-40 if the election were held today.

BTW, even though he'll never win the nomination due to the color of his skin, I'd vote for Al Sharpton in a heartbeat. I have to agree, though, that Kerry is probably going to win the nomination. By all acounts, he already has the backing of the party machinery. This will go a long way towards his nomination.

What do people think about the Greens and Nader?

I love Ralph Nader. I voted for him in the last election. I'll probably vote for him again. Being a member of a third party, and living in a closed primary state, I can't exactly vote in the Democratic Primary. Actually, I'm thinking of changing my registration to Republican just so I can vote against Bush in the primaries. He he he...

nader. he's a good dude.

and if he "steals" votes from the dems again like people so rudely put it in the last election, well, fuck them. electoral games like that are the pits. they just wanted to blame someone for that asshole being in office. northernsun.org has a cool bumper sticker "bush/cheney: america's 2nd choice"

Does it really matter who comes out to be the next president of the u$?
As far as I see, Bush is the perfect example of what a model american president should be : a good puppet.
I honestly don't think he has any power at all, expect that of doing what the corporations and the military wants him to do.
I don't give a shit if the next prez is Jesus himself, the bottom line is that he will get as corrupted as the rest before him.
We're talking about America after all, one nation under God. Stop dreaming, It's not worth your breath.

i voted for nader too. unfortunately, i think bush will be the dumb ass prez again. i dont understand how people cannot see just how horrible he is. are the american people really this stupid?

Zombie
15th May 2003, 02:41
It isn't about being stupid or not.
They are just easily influenced and brainwashed.
Corporate media.
Remember that before Sept 11, Bush wasn't too liked by the majority of the people. No need to remind how it all turned around to his favor after 9-11...

Liebermann can not be the President, because of the US involvement in the Middle East you can not have a Jewish president if u stand any chance of being neutral (not that they are)!
