I didn't know where else to put this thread, but I was wondering if anyone knows how to stop advertising accounts on forums from spamming forums?

I'm a mod on a site that is experiencing this, and all I can do is delete the spam - since i'm no admin, I can't ban their accounts.

What software are you using? If it is phpBB an admin will have to change the "Enable Visual Confirmation" to yes.

But Cthenthar is talking about another site. Notice how he isn't a mod here?

I'm the admin on a low traffic forum and I just went and deleted a bunch of spam accounts. Banned anyone from signing up with a "@mail.ru" email account and a while ago I set the setting I mentioned above.

Search engines go through forums too, so it is best to delete spam accounts and any posts they have made.
