Agreed, but I suspect that as the working class grows in China, and becomes more combative, the CCP will go the way of other communist parties world-wide: into the trashcan of history.

And good riddance....

...as the working class grows????

China has the largest proletariat in the world. And lets disinguish between the CCP under Mao, and the China after Deng's economic reforms.

But yes, today's CCP is communist in name only.

I heard that this hacker organization once declared cyberwar on the Chinese state, and then all these "ethical" hackers said that was breaking "hacker ethics."

I don't know crap about computer programming, but I think disrupting the functioning of the Chinese state digitally would be a truly positive thing to do with your time.

Hah, good luck with taking down China. The only way I could see it happening was if they broke into the CCP's ISP's and took them offline. I doubt anybody but l0pht are that savvy.

The CCP absolutely needs to be stopped. From my understanding, there is no documentation that ensures rights (either that or it isn't enforced). Shutting down the ISPs won't do any good. The filter needs to be disabled so people can see uncensored internet and the government propoganda sites need to be shut down.

A lot of the Chinese hackers are quite nationalistic(they went against the US in force after the Serbian embassy attack) so there would probably be some major retaliation.

A farce performed by the CCP spies,I think!

See http://bbs.54man.org/ ,some of them pretend to be very nationalistic to have a chance to demo on streets. When there are enough persons, they will cry "Beat down the corrupt CCP".

The CCP will, in all probability, collapse but possibly not in the same way those in Eastern Europe did. It could morph into a neo-liberal monstrosity.

Bingo. The next generation of Party leaders will be businessmen. The Party will not "be stopped" and it will not collapse, it will merely continue in its role as mouthpiece for the Chinese bourgeoisie.

The CCP censors its citizens access to the internet, and so attacking the party and state would not have been a violation of hacker ethics. However most of this degenerated into a nationalistic and somewhat racists confruntation between the western and chinese hackers involved.

Authoritarian?Yes.
Insane? During the Cultural Revolution, yes.
Murderous? During the Cultural Revolution mainly.
Hunger? Mainly during the Great Leap Forward but that mainly affected the countryside.
