Our forthcoming president, Mr. Kirchner, has been invited by Lula (Brazil) and Lagos (Chile) to hold a meeting to strenghten the Mercorsu (the Common Market of the South Treaty) in order to stop the NAFTA and Big Brother's imperilism in Latin America.

I read a similar article on my local newspaper, he said that if Chile, Argentina and Brazil joined together they would not be seen as puppets any more and would start throwing some weight finally. I dont reallly know this Krichner guy very well (all I know he is better than Menem) but from his statements he seems as a good fellow, Luis Inacio is awesome and for Lagos I doubt him, since he is too busy giving Bush a nice hand job.

When he says join together, does he mean one supercountry or a political alliance?

of course an alliance. There is no way Argentina and Chile are going to join into one country, no way, there is too much rivalry between the majority of our countries.
For example Bolivians are still arguing with Chile for access to the sea, and Peru hates Chile and viceversa.
Of course that is the public opinion, I dont hate them at all, i consider my self southamerican, nothing more, nothing less

Would having a port solve Bolivia's poverty?
