Id just like to ask a small tad question about the radio.

you know every year or so when they say what the ratings are for various radio stations and whether they are down or not

How do they know how many people are tuned into the stations, like what the listner ratings are?

It cant possibly be surveys can it?

"80,000 people tuned in last night"

"FM104 is Dublins most listned to radio station" etc etc

Question goes about TV too.

I'm guessing they just do the stats like look at the cable companies and see how many homes and use average people in a home, etc.

Someone told me that the TV company gave him a TV for a survey to see what channels he was watching, etc.
