Permanent Revolution (http://www.interpunk.com/item.cfm?Item=129788&)

Catch 22 unleash a masterful and unprecedented concept album called Permanent Revolution. Using their horn-driven, uber-catchy ska to explore the life of Leon Trotsky, the father of Marxist Theory and leader of the Bolshevik revolution in Russia, Catch 22 take their fans back in time to Russia during the 1900's. Trotsky was ousted by Stalin and exiled to Mexico, and ultimately assassinated by a Russian agent, but his fierce convictions and sound political theories changed the face of society in Europe and continue to resonate today. In a song cycle that traces his life, Catch 22 provides a musical interpretation to the grounbreaking events of his early years and the eventual tragedy of his death.

Sounds good, I'm still to hear any of catch22 songs but heard a lot of good stuff about them. Anyone got any samples or whatever?

This is why you shouldn't listen to punks!

Or in this case, ska.

I saw these guys a few months ago and they were talking about this album. I'm actually kind of excited. The band (it's been said a million times, I know) has never been as good since Thomas left, Keasbey Nights was their best album. But maybe things will change around a little for them now.

Well yeah, I thought that was wrong, but it was the people who own the site who wrote it, not the band. Idiots.

Looks like a good album. I'll probably end up borrowing it off my mate who's really into ska.

Does anyone actually know if this album is any good?

I've always preferred Streelight Manifesto for some reason but this is a really cool concept for an album

Trotskyites
Trotskyists?

I've got like 5 songs of this album and seen the video for 'Party Song' on Youtube. It's all been pretty solid and I thought the lyrics in Prologue were cool;

Suspend your disbelief in revolution,
Their solutions were a way for them to change the world they lived in
The rich stay rich, the poor got even poorer
And the world engulfed in war only added to the horror

the entire album is wicked good. the music and lyrics are pheonominal
oh and from what i've heard there not marxists, but only cause they need to do some more reading on it.
