I don't have any links, but Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nusrat_Fateh_Ali_Khan) was a good Islamic musician.

Check out Lord Jamar's new release, "The 5 Percent Album." Other solo projects from Brand Nubian are also definitely worth looking at; both the group's united efforts and their contemporaries like Poor Righteous Teachers and Gang Starr contain a good deal of theology in their lyrics.
There's plenty of other five percenter rappers, such as Nas, Busta Rhymes, Big Daddy Kane, and Eric B and Rakim. A portion of A Tribe Called Quest are Sunnis, such as Q-Tip; same with The Roots.
Also, I know Lupe Fiasco is a fairly vocal Muslim and released a pretty good remix of "Jesus Walks" called "Muhammad Walks." Ice Cube and Public Enemy were affiliated with the NOI but I can't think of any outwardly religious lyrics of theirs off the top of my head.

Not particularly Islamic, but Paki. Punjabi MC is very good. He's fairly "mainstream" and you can probably find him in any local record shop. Also, the Persian Omid is rather good.

Sami Yusuf, Outlandish and Yusuf Islam ... maybe.

Cause Arabic and Persian are some of the most beautiful languages in the world (next to French). Also, Mid Eastern tunes have a great sound to them.

You should download "Allah-hoo" from Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, that's my favourite song of him.

Okay, but why not just say "Arabic"? Is there secular Arabic music, or is it very rare?

My favourite is Timur Mutsuraev. He's a Chechen rebel bard. A huge talent. He sings in Russian, though.

www.radiodarvish.com Great Classical Persian music!
www.palvoice.com Palestinian songs, many of which related to resistance to occupation, but its in arabic, so it may be hard to find unless you speak it.
http://www.haqq.de/categories/8-dhikr,-hadra This is a Sufi Dhikr, Sufism being a very mystic and esoteric sect of Islam. If anyone is interested in Sufi poetry, they should check out Jalaludin Rumi (http://www.khamush.com/poetry/), though this poetry loses something in translation (as does all translated litterature.)
Aside from that, check out Umm Khoultoum, Alizidegh, Naseer Shamma, and Kazem el-Saher. Alizideh is often on the radio darvish site. although most of this is secular Arabic and Persian music, not Islamic music.
