I bought some red fabric used in flags today for 22cents per square metre and was using it to make curtains, I had enouth left over to make a good sized flag, was wondering if anybody had any tips for putting the hammer and sickle on it.

Well, you could sew one on. Which is as simple as cutting two hammer and sickle logos out of yellow fabric and, yea you guessed it, sewing them on.

Or

Get some paint, fabric paint, outline it where you want it and paint it on. Though this normally goes threw the fabric, meaning the image one the other side will be a mirror image. That isn't really a huge problem.

The red flags fine as it is in my opinion though :P

Don't bother with the hammer and sickle, they're way too difficult, just draw an A with a circle around it ;)

Actually I just drew a hammer and sickle on a card and turned it into a stencil then put the stencil onto the yellow fabric and cut it out with a stanly knife. Was easy as stealing doritos from a servo.

Here's the construction details:

But if you can be assed going that far, just use a sewing machine. I once made a Sov flag that way and it looked fine.
