View Full Version : Stupid Christian Fundamentalist Tract - It's anti-Communist

Jack T. Chick is the conservative creator of thousands of those pesky little anti-Catholic, anti-Muslim, anti-Hindu, anti-Buddhist, anti-Jewish, and as I've just found out anti-Communist animated tracts that keep popping up everywhere. Some topics (Roman Catholicsm, salvation by faith) are frequently covered, while others (Communism, the Jewish faith) are covered only once. "Fat Cats" pulls off both. It's set in some sort of Third World country ruled by an oppresive dictator, and a dude with a Protestant girlfriend is enticed by some revolutionary's speeches. His g/f's father, a minister, tries to convince him not to join, using the cliche capitalist arguements (it'll only bring more unrest, dictators always turn on their advocates, etc.) but he joins anyhow and finds that a Catholic priest is a main leader of the Communist party. The "People's Army" goes to work, waving a Russian flag and slaying the government as well as the Protestant minister's family. (It doesn't actually say why, though. You could say it was because they were following Russia's example and banning religion, but why would a Catholic priest be part of this?) So then they shoot the guy and he's judged and goes to Hell, yadda yadda.

Anyway, you can read it here: http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/0053/0053_01.asp. Just about all the tracts on that side are entertaining, although hardly deliberately. I'd like to make it clear that I am a Christian, but red-necked idiots like this ALMOST make me ashamed. It does contain the priest's interesting sketch of his idea of Jesus:

Here's another pic (from elsewhere on the net):

To be honest, I have no idea what that furry thing is, but a couple of Marxist friends said it may have been a Communist Sheep (you know, since Jesus is "the Good Shepherd", see John 10).

Yep, that "Chick" dumbass attacks everyone that isn't a fundie (atheists, pagans, homosexuals, and of course the ultimate evil in this world - Dungeons and Dragons)!

Actually, I agree with "Father Dominic" in that Jesus was a communist, although perhaps not the same way he does (although he makes a way better arguement than Juan's would-be father-in-law). And I can't help laughing when fundies condemn D&D (although it's geekiness is almost evil).

D&D is awesome.

All this business about Jesus being a socialist is horse feces. For any leftist who wants to defend Jesus as some kind of "early communist", I suggest you read this post (http://politics.host.sk/discussion/index.php?act=ST&f=8&t=888)...

Uh huh... no comment.

OK, using that as a claim that Jesus was a cappie is horse feces mixed with cow feces in a blender. That teaching is, if you look past the fact that a unit of currency, very Marxist.

Look at the context. A master has his servants do work. The one who works the best with what he has (using his "talents", if you will) is rewarded the most but the lazy one is cast out into the "outer darkness". Is this not exactly what Marx "preached"? He said that a man's worth and position should be based on how much he works and how effectively. The "good and faithful servant" is the proletarian. The one who does nothing is the burgeoise. When he slacks off and is un-productive he is punished. Jesus used money in his parable to represent the favour one would recieve in a communist utopia (my interpretation, but I'm sure I'll have a few supporters.. although maybe not on this board).

Out of curiousity, donut, where'd you find that avator of the Nazi beating the, uh, other guy (is he Jewish or something?) and who was that last guy in your avator (whom Hazard called "wormy-looking")?

Perhaps you need glasses, because it's a man putting swasticas into a rubbish bin.

Actually, I'm going to Wal-Mart this weekend to pick them up.

(I am not joking.)

Although now I can see what mean. Thanks.

Where'd you get it.? Did you make it yourself?

Comrade Gorely, I agree with you, on the whole, but he was really into his religion so was less libertarian than many people on this sight, all that stuff about just thinking about another woman is adultery, and stuff like that.

Personally I think religion's irrelevant, it's too easily twisted, but I do agree with the general idea of Original Sin, that we are all flawed and for me communism is about overcoming these flaws and becoming truly civilised, not this pathetic excuse for "sophisication".
