Bands like Dead Kennedys, Adolescents, Bad Brains, Nerve Agents, Choking Victim, Suicide Machines, Minor Threat, Reagan Youth, State, and even old classics like the Ramones are what rock my boat. Or I could reach that conclusion by acknowledging their influence in Anarcho-Punk/Crust/Grindcore, their musicianship in their last albuns (a weird sort of free-form Punk) or simply by their actions as a band (which include the creation of a fake tape, that caught an whole lot of attention by the CIA or simply sabotaging several magazines at the time).
But it´s granted that there are an whole lot of bands that are superior to them.

I must say I&#39;m in total agreement with Enigma, crass are awful. The music is just complete trash (and I at times do have a fairly high threshold for bad music, I don&#39;t expect virtuoso caliber music certainly not from a punk band but I do expect something better than crass and hopefully some melody) and does so much to detract from the content of the lyrics that it renders them practically useless.

There&#39;s lots of great punk out there and plenty with good lyrical content.
