A survey has shown that people in European and Muslim countries see US policy in Iraq as a larger threat to world peace than Iran's nuclear programme.
So much for bringing peace and stability, huh?
The survey questioned 17,000 people in 15 countries, including the US.
US 'biggest global peace threat' (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/5077984.stm)
This is common knowledge but it's fun to bring in statistics. :D

Unfortunately, polls like these don't help to deter the American government or their deluded right wing followers in their destructive plans. Hell, Bush's approval rating is down in the 20's and they still haven't managed to impeach the bastard. Incredible.

But the ridiculous thing regarding the study is that ppl in America don't care if they have a bad image
During slavery, American's didn't care about the world's condemnation of such a practice
And now more than ever, they don't care what others think of them
Arrogance and intolerance is called patriotism in America
Its pathetic how so many of these idiots in the states don't care about what happens to them, or what the world thinks of them
As long as America is raping and profiting from it, everything is okay for them
They don't care, and they're proud of it
Most Americans see the death of innocent Iraqi's as collateral damage
They look at every Iraqi as an insurgent, and they fully support those who do some of the killing over there
Last week here in Souther California, a bunch of bigots were protesting outside one of the many military bases down here, they were protesting because the base had put one of the soldiers involved in the Haditha massacre in custody
The garbage coming from the mouths and actions of these idiots is rather absurd
So this study is rather interesting, but it won't do much to change the attitude of Americans

Right, it's simply a survey and it will remain that. It probably won't affect the attitudes of Americans to any great extent and it certainly won't affect the major policy deciders of the US.

You can't impeach a president because you don't like them. They have to commit or be aware of crimes by the executive branch. While we know he is aware and responsible for crimes, impeachment will not happen until that is the viewpoint taken by the congress.

Americans only care if their own national peace is disturbed, like on 11/9. This is the way their culture is - they need to stop listening to their media and to their government and realise the damage they cause to the world.

Does it really matter?
Yes.
5 or 50 million is a big difference.

I think they have the impeachment thing here in the US so that people have the the idea that impeachment might be possible, but in reality, it is never carried out.
Americans live in their own worlds, ignoring the outside world, and all the atrocities that this country commits against other peoples.

But I guess that is the way American policy works. As long as "everything work" they don't need to give a damn. A survey made some years ago asking people where the US was on the world map, a large part of those who answered thought that Russia was the US, because it was the biggest country. Pathetic.

I wonder where they would have put Russia? After all, it is awfully small, all tucked away down there! <_<

Wow. :o
Do you have a link?
This is not the first time this happen. Some U.S. citizens believe Europe is in Asia.
And 1 out of 10 can't find their own nation on the map. It's strange, since they are obsessed with their own hegemony.

About 100 or so
But many down here in Southern California sympathize with the murderers
Among them, recently naturalized Latin Americans who were once discriminated and persecuted
And whose countrymen are now being persecuted by the INS, discriminated by Americans, and loathed by the US government

This was linke to it-
China more popular than US (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4124164.stm)
America's image is still so tattered abroad after the Iraq war that China is viewed more favourably than the US in many countries, a global poll finds.
Its image has not recovered in Western European countries, the US-based Pew Research Center found.
In none of the 16 countries surveyed, the US included, does a majority of the public think the war leading to Saddam Hussein's removal made the world safer.
But hostility towards the US has eased in some parts of the Muslim world.
"It's amazing when you see the European public rating the United States so poorly, especially in comparison with China," said Andrew Kohut, director of the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press, which carried out the survey.
