Why the change in day? And what's the significance of the 14th anyway? Can't be arsed to look it up on wikipedia.

Apparently, it is the day they adopted the flag.

Why the change in day?
So dissidents can steal flags that people put up on the 14th and burn them the next day.

It's illegal (sadly) to burn flags in the US, right?

No actually I don't think it is. In the back of my history textbook there is a little section on how too treat a flag with respect  Anyhow, it says once a flag is tattered to use, you should fold it and burn it.

On subject,

Where I live unfortunatly people don't hang flags on their porches so it'll be hard to get a flag.

I remember them recently trying to pass legislation to make it illegal, there was much controversy on the topic. I don't remember them ever passing it, although I could be wrong.

I got a paper flag in the newspaper today, that one will turn to ashes on the 15. Go looking for those really small handheld flags, those go up in smoke quickly.

Well, it is America. If you don't fly a flag then you're an enemy of the state!

Boy, do I wish I were 18..this would be so amazing. We should set up an organized bonfire in some big cities with enough RevLefters to get it done.

As far as I know, it is tradition to burn a flag if it touches the ground or is soiled in any way. Interestingly enough, the same applies for a Bible.

I don't understand why you would want to burn the flag of the only country that would allow you to do so. Face it. America is the best. Show some patriotism.

It's illegal to burn the flag, so no, its not "allowed". Idiot.

I find nationalism pretty uncomfortable. Even on Australia Day, seeing so many people walking around with Australian flags just reminds me of the Cronulla Riots.
