Just wondering, how far would political correctness go in a socialist/communist/Marxist/etc society?

Well...just like (for example) replacing/making illegal a certain type of flag (Nazi/Confederate/Take your pic/etc) because it represents something. Basically just censorship of anything offensive is what I mean.

according to some [anti-communist] sources, political correctness is a direct result of Marxism, see:

http://www.grecoreport.com/multiculturalism_and_marxism.htm
However, from a personal point of view, I do not see the need for the obsessive political correctness currently present in some western countries. For instance, in Britain nursery rhymes are having words changed in some schools so that people are not offended (from "ba ba black sheep" to "ba ba rainbow sheep"). There have not, as far as I'm aware, been any complaints about this song, the change is simply the result of white politicians/authority figures overcompensating. I think this is too much and only leads to resentment and further seperation between groups. In a Communist society this would be unnecessary because the divisions between us which are currently cultivated by the bourgeois class, such as race, sexuality, gender etc would cease to be re-enforced and so would become meaningless.
I do not think any kind of overt racism would manifest itself in Communist society because there would simply be no need nor encouragement for it.

I don't think political correctness is at all useful, in my own opinion. All it does really is reinforce that there are different colors of skin <_< (Sorry, couldn't find another term for it) , and not that we should all be treated equally.

I'm all for what is often called "political correctness" (Which imo, tends to be a term that homophobic white males use when they can't say whatever they want about queers, women, or minorities).
As long as I DON'T have the right to kill a neo-nazi, I WON'T support their so called "right" to be on television spewing racist bullshit.
My opinion is that current mentalities don't just disappear, and that under socialism, we will need to take progressive paths to end degressive mentalities Under communism, there shouldn't be much left to "censor"....
Of course, my ideas about "PC" and "Censorship" may only function with my politics, I'm sure that someone else may have a different take on the issue.

Any society will have dissent but in order for a revolution to take place you would think that you'd have the majority of the populace already behind you and so it wouldn't be much of a problem. :P
