Do you guys think it be close to impossible if not just completely impossible for a working class revolution with minimal fire power and home made bombs, etc. to be able to over throw a world super power like the U.S.? I mean their goverment is well protected, the military is no joke, and the CIA and FBI are on their game.
Do you think the working class people will have a chance?

A lot of the time I see threads like this. An American revolution won't come through bombings or guerilla campaigns but through an increase in working class consciousness. Strikes will do more damage to the state than a whole cratefull of AKs

I'll try and search the web and find a document written by Connolly on the practcalities of an American revolution (written at a time when worker's power was so strong it was a realistic possibility).

Also, you should consider the idea that sections of the military would unite with the revolutionaries.

You've brought up a good point.

This is why some leftists believe that a violent revolution is impossible.

But this is why we envision a mass revolutionary movement. After all, most military personnel are not bourgeois but rather working class. We hope that they will join the movement and move away from the interests of the ruling class.

The point is that we totally outnumber the ruling bourgeois and if a truly massive movement were to rise then they would stand no chance.

Yes the military apparatus is advanced, but would they be willing to fire on their own firends and nieghbors, bomb their own cities? Would you resonably expect a soldier to go into a city that could have once been his home to clear out the revolutionaries? The American and British armies are full of people who come from the same backgrounds as many of the people who would be fighting the system and from many of the same cities that would be key battlegrounds. Even a government may have second thoughts as regards using some of the more advanced weapons on it's own citties (especially factories and so on, destroying the MoP would be a huge shot in the foot on their part.).It would end up being an engagement on our own terms.

Compared to a century ago the bourgeoisie is stunningly more advanced and complex. The good news is that so is the proletariat.

Just like at the south central farm protest. watching those cops. some even black and mexican working against us. its fucking sad that they become drones. game pieces for the city, for the goverment. i couldnt help but feel sorry for them and their families and all that shit they stand for.
I really hate what police stand for. with a passion. If you would of watch them beat those people and just stand there blocking us and moving us out. its like damn dude- do you even know what the fuck you doing? you got no balls? stand up for your people for human rights and for the working class. YOU ARE THE WORKING CLASS.

YOU ARE THE WORKING CLASS.
We're hoping that they'll recognize that when the actual revolution occurs.
