You could tell Chomsky was thinking "What am I doing here talking to this fucking idiot?"
Ali G is cool though. He's been funnier though, much funnier.

I have heard that Ali G. doesn't tell the interviewees what's going on. If this is true, then that would explain how he gets these people.

That's how a lot of the people that Ali G. interviews acts.

I didn't know Noam would let himself be interviewed by white trash. Makes sense though, he did interview that one Canadian guy who had no fucking idea what he was dealing with.

I know, some members were asking how Ali G. was able to convince these people to be interviewed.
I didn't know Noam would let himself be interviewed by white trash.
What's with the racist remark? Ali G. isn't Caucasian, he's of Serbian and Persian descent.

Sacha Baron Cohen (the guy who plays him) sends people requests on Channel 4 or HBO paper with the HBO font, so they think its a more serious interview... then they are rather surprised when they meet him. :D
He's actually incredibly intelligent in real life, he has a History degree from Cambridge, and being Jewish, he worked for Habonin Dror (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Habonim) when he was younger, a 'Socialist-Zionist' youth movement.

Ahh, I didn't mean anything about race. I'm used to using the term 'white trash' to mean anyone of simple mind. Reguardless of race.

Why couldn't you have said that then? White trash is the equivalent of "honky" or "cracker" and is a racial slur and is not acceptable here.

Not exactly. It's more of a class distinction and not racial necessarily. It's usually used by upper-class white people or even working class white people to seperate themselves from (lumpen-)proletarian whites. I suppose it could be used by petty-bourgeois minorities as an insult, but that's not very common. It's ok for me to say white trash though, cuz I am. ;)
Using it to refer to "anyone of simple mind" doesn't make much sense though; and is a very classist thing to do. You sound like those "revolutionary" middle-class students who never have anything to do with workers.
As for Sacha Cohen, he fucking rocks. The Chomsky one was not that great, but some of his other stuff is really funny. His other two characters as very funny as well:

I loved when Ali G interviewed Sammy Wilson of the DUP. He (Ali G) completely wiped the floor with him.

I've always heard of it as a racial slur with a call component.
It's ok for me to say white trash though, cuz I am.
Ok...But it's not really appropriate language for this forum and since this is the Internet, someone may be offended by it. Besides, Ali G. is not Caucasian.
You sound like those "revolutionary" middle-class students who never have anything to do with workers.
What is the point of this class-baiting? What exactly is your point? That just because a worker says it then it's acceptable? So if a worker made a sexist or homophobic comment that it is okay as well?
