To occupy Iraq would instantly shatter our coalition, turning the whole Arab world against us and make a broken tyrant into a latter-day hero ... assigning young soldiers to a fruitless hunt for a securely entrenched dictator and condemning them to fight in what would be an un-winnable urban guerilla war. It could only plunge that part of the world into even greater instability.

This beautifully ironic little tidbit brought to you by none other than George H. W. Bush, in his book(?) in 1997. You probably will not find this on National Review Online, cappie pigs.

God forbid someone in the current administration would actually have a differnt view to dumbya's dad? :)

Did you not understand the statement? I wasn't suggesting they should have followed exactly what Sr. suggested, but that H. W. predicted exactly what would happen, six or so years earlier, what happened when his son (and administration) made a bad decision.
