There are hundreds, if not thousands of leftist groups all over the world, each with their own objectives and methods. However, people from all over the planet all join up here to discuss leftist ideas and ideals. Although I have seen some infighting between leftist groups and people, I think it is safe to say that we all (or at least most of us) agree on some of the major issues, for example:

- Cessation of war, reduced military spending
- Removal of classes in society
- Fair wages and treatment for all workers
- Quality health, education and social welfare systems

Therefore, I propose that members of this forum and expand their reaches and start taking action in their own regions (whether it be a country, workplace, university, etc.), all under the name of the Revolutionary Left. I suggest that people who come from the same regions get in contact and organise events related to the left-wing movement. These could be demonstrations, outdoor concerts, markets, public talks - basically anything to show the people that "society is crap as it is, but you can make it better".

There are thousands of members here. There are so many more people out their who agree with leftist ideas even if they don't quite realise it. With enough of a push, RevLeft could become a formidable international movement, with localised groups all over the world. This sounds more of an effort than it actually is: all it takes is some communication between like-minded people. Like the RevLeft splash says, "Talking is OVER, Action is ON".

While I would love nothing more for everyone to start doing this, its not going to happen just cos you say so. Alot of new members come here thinking that we can just pick up our pitchforks and take over (I was there myself at one point) but its just not the reality of it.
I hate to be so negative and I don't want to crush your revolutionary spirit.
Where are you from? There may be some organisations in your area that you could join to attempt to make some sort of difference but don't expect anything to hapen over night, our struggle is going to be a long one and we are perhaps hundreds of years away from true communism or anarchy.

Don't worry, you haven't crushed anything :P

I feel that only reason such a movement is so far away is because nobody will actually organise themselves into a militant (not necessarily violent) group and 'walk the walk'.

To answer your question in a way, I'm from Ireland, and my home country is one that I feel would benifit from a strong shift towards the left. We have the fastest growing economy in the world and we are one of the richest countries in Europe; basically, we have lots of money. Our government is under heavy fire from the public and the media due to severe lack of competence in many areas, including public transport, health services, and education; most of these problems are due to the government's inability to properly spend money in sectors where it's needed. As a result, I personally think that the present coalition will suffer in the general elections last week, and (I hope) the voters will move to another direction. Question is, to which direction?

So, Ireland is on a kind of 'tipping-point', and I feel that it would be only natural to move to the left in order to make proper use of the money we have and will get, and to ensure that the country is not run by a bunch of multi-millionaire incompetent politicians. And surely there must be more countries in a similar situation all over the world. Basically, all that I'm proposing is that people from such countries keep in contact and encourage their fellow citizens to broaden their political views.

Ireland is the 3rd Fastest Growing Economy in the world. Equatorial Guinea and China are ahead of the Irish.

Ireland is the 8th richest country in Europe.
