I got a taste of super-charged religious idiocy today in my math class. I sit next to two really religious girls.

When I'm in an intellectual conversation with my free thinker freind next to me, they will butt in with stupid comments like when the topic is "I wonder why humans wear clothes so much?", and I'm about to say how a nessecity against the enviroment has been turned into a cultural custom, and one butts in saying "You know, there is a biblical reference on that!". And I'm about to go "okay...shut up...." and she goes on some rant about what she read in the book of the revelations. :(

Anyways, todays antics consisted that TOMMOROW IS 6/6/06, the (almost) NUMBER OF THE DEVIL! :o

So, everyone in the classroom goes completely hysterical, acting like little kids who just heard a scary story. And these two girls were leading the whole thing, saying how its when the non-believers are doomed ect.

I exclaim "CAPTAIN OBVIOUS TO THE RESCUE! You idiots! We go by a certain type of calender, theres been plenty of others, Arabic lunar calender systems, the Aztec calander...its COMPLETELY IDIOTIC to think this is "the end of days"! God doesn't exist you terds! Even if he did exist, why would he go by a #$@! calender corresponding to the orbit of the earth?!"

Now the teacher walks in just when I say this, no-one seemed convinced...but I got off easy since my teacher, although strict, is a die-hard about logic and obviously secretly admired my statement.

I just wanted to share this with you, because this is the most amazing first hand account I have seen of the stupidity of religion. It is NOT ridiculous to say that religious people are like lemmings, they would jump off the cliff if there was some biblical connection to it.

Hell, they'll do anything no matter how stupid as long as it invokes something about god or something concerning their superstition! It completely overrides rational thought!

So, everyone in the classroom goes completely hysterical, acting like little kids who just heard a scary story. And these two girls were leading the whole thing, saying how its when the non-believers are doomed ect.
Are they too stupid to realize that 6/6/06 happens every 100 years? That we&#39;ve had 20 of them previous to this one?
