Why do unions only pertain to one general job like miners, farmers etc. What we need is a national union that all prolitariat can become members of. The small scale unions can only fight against their local bourgeoisie like the owner of their local factory. Imaggine the power if all of the prolitariat banded toghether not only could they have nation wide strikes to cripple the bourgeoisie but they could even work towards socialism. It just dosn't make sense that we don't have one yet.

It's because different jobs have diofferent issues which are in contention with their bosses.

Each job is different and there are different aspects to these different jobs; this means that the struggles and issues raised in those jobs are different.

There are unions that take in all workers. Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) for example.

The small scale unions can only fight against their local bourgeoisie like the owner of their local factory.

Usually, in times of struggle unions support each other.

When the time comes though, historically, unions have "banded" togther so I don't think you need to worry that the workers are split because of what union they belong to.

It just dosn't make sense that we don't have one yet.

I can't be certain, but I suspect it's something that has already been thought of.

There are some asspects they all have in common, they could all try to get minimum wage up to a level an average person can live at.

The Workers usually unite politically through political parties or movements...not unions. Unions pertain solely to the job they do and their relation to the means of production.

TAT basically summed it up. The goal should not be to make "one big union" so to speak, because different unions for different jobs makes sense. The goal (at least to a Marxist-Leninist) should be to create a mass party of revolutionary workers with a strong presence in the unions.
