I know this isn't politics in the traditional sense, and I'm almost certain the mods will move this elsewhere but while its here i hope it gets some much needed attention.
an incredible NGO called Warchild Canada works with the music industry to create awareness about the plight of war affected children and also is involved in numerous humanitarian projects, including the Northern Uganada Youth and Child Legal Project which I have told many of you about.
the latest wonderful thing that Warchild has done is to create a cd called "peace songs". basically they've take a whole bunch (like 21) songs about peace/anti-war and have some awesome musicians preform these songs and complied them onto a 2 cd set. and now the cd is on sale. all the proceeds go to warchild who, again, do INCREDIBLE Work. Artists include: k-os, david usher, david bowie, the charlatans, beth orton, our lady peace, moby, basement, jann arden, bryan adams, bruce cockburn, PAUL McCARTNEy, Gord Downie, Elvis Costello, Leonard Cohen, Barnaked Lades, Billy Brag, Eurythmics.
Please buy the CD (if you can) and tell everyone you can. I have worked with many NGOs and this one reallly deserves your help.

I apologize to those of you outside of Canada as it probably isn't available, but perhaps, just perhaps the warchild crew (who are all awesome people) can arrange some way to get you a cd regardless of your place or residence.
