Not sure if any of you have heard of this guy yet, but believe me you eventually will.

If your outside the UK at the moment though it is highly unlikely.

Basically he is what you would call 'grime' (although his favourite band are the Red Hot Chilli's). I say that because he's most likely to be seen and heard on Channel U and 1Xtra.

I remember seeing him on Channel U a few years ago and was blown away immediantly.

The guy is a awesome musican/artist. I made it my mission to get his 'mixtape' which was unfourtunatly not available in mainstream shops but eventually I got it. He's just realeased his first album which is probably just as good.

To all you rock/indie fans out there dont be put of by the grime label. The first few tracks on the Album have what you would call Indie beats to them.

Im a fan of akala, gt some gd political sentiment in there aswell. i rekon hes destined for big things in the UK hip hop scene, altho i rekon its unlikly his music will spread much outta the UK, as acts like this guy rarely do even when they got the talent.

Dizzee Rascal is better, Akala seems just to be stealin cool guitar riffs and spitting horrible British raps over the top

I was going to start a thread on Akala.

I'm listening to Military Minds right now.

He is the best thing British grime has produced in my opinion.

Dizzie Rascal?

Have to disagree there. I'd rate Skinnyman and Klashnekoff above him any day of the week.

Military Minds has a wicked beat to it. Great tune to to do press ups and sit ups to.

You got the mixtape?

Track 1 ''Welcome to England''.

Highly politicised track. Cant find the lyrics anywhere though. If someone could print them here that would be good.

I live in Aberdeen so stuff by artists like Akala is hard to come by. I only recently heard his stuff and so the next time I go to London I'll be sure to get my hands on the real thing, instead of downloading as I have done so far.

I have got "Welcome to England" which is awesome because it is so true and hard-hitting, but my favourite is "Military Minds". I also like the stuff he's done over beats from Big Pun's "You Aint a Killer" and Jay-Z's "Dead Presidents".

"Shakespeare" is good too.

He strikes me as a British Immortal Technique.

"Banger for the Streets" is over a classical music tune, it's good too.

The first I heard of him was on Channel U and it was the "Bullshit" video, which has decent lyrics.

He is Miss Dynamite's brother, and I have read that he is a bit of a mathematical genius too. He also could have been a pro footballer.

Yeah I heard he was in youth team schemes with West Ham and Wimbledon. Must of been pretty good.

I think the best place to get his stuff (apart from the Album obviously) is a shop called Dark n Cold in Oxford Street, London.

Have you seen the 'War' Video? That's when I first saw him on Channel U about two years ago. Been waiting for a official album ever since.

Nope, though I downloaded the song.

Has he not released "It's Not a Rumour" yet?

Yeah he has, about two weeks ago. Just to say I've been waiting for a album for about two years.

War video is good. Apparently there's a video for 'Banger for the Streets' aswell, never saw it. Heard that it's with him rapping on top of a police car.
