Anybody read any works by him? apparently he is known for his impartiality and for writing more objective pieces. He wrote the Prophet Armed, The Prophet Unarmed(both about Trotsky) and Stalin: A Political Biography, which im about on page 90 right now, and I must say is quite unbiased and is really good so far.

On Isaac- He was a member of the communist party of Poland, and was expelled for his anti-Stalin activities. Interesting how he is writing on Stalin, objectively, or so it seems

It seems that he could be a Trot, anyone know any info on him?

Yes, Deutscher was a Trot. Wikipedia has a short bio (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isaac_Deutscher) of him. His widow, Tamara Deutscher wrote a profile (http://www.deutscherprize.org.uk/Isaac%20&%20Tamara%20Deutscher.htm) on him for his book, The Non-Jewish Jew & Other Essays. Alex Callinicos critiqued Deutscher's political position in his book,Trotskyism (http://www.marxists.de/trotism/callinicos/3-3_orthodox.htm).
