I just heard (on CNN) that Bush is planning on sending people to North Korea to demand they hand over their weapons of mass destruction (that word is really starting to scare me). I'm about %90 sure they are going to tell us, basically, to fuck off. In my opinion this is starting to sound like some serious shit. Apparently Rumsfeld wants to team up with China and topple (their word not mine) North Korea. So what I want to knwo is, do you guys think this has potential to turn into another Cold War ?

I doubt the war will be cold. It will either (a) not happen and set a new, stronger precident than that of Iraq, or (B) many koreans, japanese, americans, and chinese will die.

This could turn very violent. North Korea is on the "axis of evil" and is a target of bushes fascism. Apparently, the usa can have all the weapons of mass destruction it wants, but no one else.

Since de URSS fell in 1991 the U$ has been the sheriff of the world, with no one telling what you can and cant do it is easy to just kill anyone you dislike without any difficulty.

The U$ doesnt want to turn the N Korea conflict into a big media show since that part of the world is not very fond of american politics, i seriously doubt China will line up with the U$ to defeat N Korea, no matter how evil Kim Jong Il seems, maybe the U$ will live up to the Ginebra Treatment since that is why this whole thing started.

As for myself I havent seen much coverage from the newspapers/TV/Radio only internet, unlike Iraq qhich seems to be getting some awesome ratings. So my best guess is that if Kim screams loud enough the U$ will get tire of having him knocking on their door and just 1) kill him and start a new Iraq or 2) fulfil his demands.

Well, from what I've heard, China is ready to go. I know Colin Powell and Rumsfeld both want to attack, the only problem is Rumsfeld wants China's help and Powell doesn't.

Cold War? No.

For that, two super-powers would be needed, the DPRK and China do not make up a super-power to create any competitive conflict with teh US, sadly.

I hope there is a short sharp war in which the U$ gets sent home crying. Retards.

1 cappie nation and a commie nation vs another commie nation. no way.

I seriously hope that many bourgeois and bourgeois minded people stop calling China, a communist state from now on.

If the DPRK has nukes, may all comrades in the U$ take care...

Well, you can dispute that we would join up with China, but I saw the words come out of Donald Rumsfeld's mouth. At least saying he wanted to align with them.

Also, why would people think North Korea isn't powerful enough to take on the U.S ? They do have a bigger army.

I agree that China is not socialist, however, I have a really hard time imagining China helping the US invade North Korea.

Normall i would wish luck to anyone trying to fight the U$ but this time i gotta go with the U$ government, i mean this country is desperate, they will do anything to get an upperhand against the U$ or any other enemy. Im not sure when but i remember hearing something about North Korea taking something like 6 mini submarines to Japan, walking up and taking something like 10 tourists that were just sitting on the beach. They then held them in North Korea for 10 years making them teach japanese ure and language to other North Koreans so that they could send spies over with knowledge of the Japanese way of life. Thats pretty scary if you ask me. Althought i do not support an invasion or fight of any kind against them, i dont support the North Korean goverment. So i guess im neutral.

It almost seems like the North Koreans are trying to get some attention. They've been doing this kind of stuff for years. Everyday there is a new development. Today I heard that they have processed all 8000 of their uranium rods, which means they enough to make about 6 more (on top of the 2 they admit having). I don't really get what they're going for waving it in the worlds face like they're doing though.

I hope there is a short sharp war in which the U$ gets sent home crying. Retards. If it is quick, it will only be because the U$ has won quickly. No, Korea's best bet would be to create a long, protracted struggle in order to fight the U$ to a stalemate. Most likely using guerrilla tactics, it would probably have to resemble the Vietnam War. This might actually have a chance at working, especially since nearly 50% of the U$ military is acting as an occupational force in Iraq.

If China did enter the war on the U.S.'s side how would they benifit from the war?

North Korea would put up a right fit against anyone, apparently its army has around 1.2 million people in it making it the fourth (i think) biggest in the world! I would like to see the U$ humiliated, but i'm not a great fan of DPRK so i'm kinda neutral

I agree. Someone needs to give the fucking Yanks a bloody nose. It's unfortunate that it's undesirables like N. Korea who do it, but so be it. I just pray that Britain, Australia, and the other Iraq collaborators stay out, so that everyone sees how isolated the US is in global politics.
As for China joining in - I really don't think Beijing would like American bases right on their border. At least N Korea is a buffer zone
