Because of the forum rules I can't post any of the shots that have me in them, so of course that means some of the best aren't here. But here's a random sampling:

That is really cool. I wish I could go there. It's nice to see an anarchist movement there.

I really loved the picture of the mountains around Valencia. Like something out of a storybook. :)

By the way, how are anarchists treated in Venezuela? Although i might not agree with them, I still respect their rights. Still comrades. :hammer:

Also, do you think you could give translations of the signs? Thanks. :trotski:

RAAN will soon be releasing a comprehensive report on the situation in Venezuela as well as some analysis of all the groups we worked with including the anarchists. Long story short though, the Chavez government sees the anarchists as coup-backers receiving money from the CIA. This is obviously preposterous.

Translations of the signs:

Concert: Banner says "RASH La Gran Caracas" which is a reference to Bolivar's "Gran Colombia" and is meant to include cities and collectives outside of Caracas, ie Valencia.

Tupamaros: The quote in yellow reads "kill me, it does not matter. i will return as millions". Underneath it says "making the political ideological consolidation - revolutionary tupamaro movement"

ABC Demo: First banner reads "No more abuses, no more tortures, liberty for the 4F (4th of february) prisoners." In the middle: "Demolition and Liberation" and on the right: "Liberty for Ruben and Ignassi, imprisoned libertarians in the the Spanish state (Spain)".

In the CESL picture, that banner is for a political prisoner.

In the ASF pic, CA3 and RACHE are anarchist collectives in Caracas. Rache means "vengeance" in German and CA3 stands for autonomous collective for an anarchist dawn.

Yeah, those mountains are pretty.

They were indeed quite gorgeous. Every other day or so we would run groups up and down them and practice parkour precision jumps. Last month a RAANista broke his foot, we're still waiting to hear how he's been doing.

Viva Los Anarquistos

It's asinine (I've been trying to work that word into a conversation all day) that you can't post pics of yourself

In any large country you will find a little bit of everyone. I am sure there is a nazi movement down there too.

But it is good to see fellow comrades down there! I hope the movement is large.

Parkour is the practice of urban freerunning. Here's a link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parkour

Anyway, these photos are pretty cool and I agree with a lot of people in this thread that it's good to see active anarchists. ;)

great pics, better than the ones i took when i was there in august. was supposed to go in january but had an emergency. by the way, when i was there i saw a lot of leftist graffiti, a little anti-chavez graffiti, and a total of one swastika spray painted in what i think i remember was los teques. nazism and fascism have adherents everywhere in latin america where the US-actively financed or supported non-state anticom groups, which means everywhere.

Great pics. You can put the ones with you in it too, just edit the pic so as to cover your face.

Even if "the Chavez government sees the anarchists as coup-backers receiving money from the CIA", Chavez still supports the worker controlled factory movement. At least that is the story I get.

Is there some way that I could get a message to Chavez? From what I hear, he is willing to talk to people, even if they don't vote. I have plans to create a new society, starting from worker controlled factory/communes, but with a slightly different decision making system. I believe we can make it grow to 100 million people in about 5 years, from the time of having the first 100 people community up and running and stocked with sufficient equipment and free of debt.

No one wants to help with money. It can be done without help, but it would start so much faster and easier with help. Chavez has the money to help. I'm not saying he's rich. It wouldn't take much, but rich people worship the god of money, so there's not much chance of finding a rich person who would consider helping.

Anyway, I'd also like information on the worker controlled factories in Argentina, if anyone knows anything about them. They are part of my plan also. My plan sort of involves drawing the mutual collaboration from many many sources. Chevaz could help with that too, if I could talk to him and get him interested.

Actually, even if I had someone who just speaks Spanish real well, and gives off that sort of atmosphere which makes people listen and agree with him or her, that'd probably work too. Except for lacking the starting funds though.

There is a reason Venezuelans see anarchists as coup-backers sponsored by the CIA. Many anarchists in Venezuela admit to being coup-backers!

It's an ultra-leftist stance -- ground Venezuela back into the stoneage and then there will be so much support from everyone to change things that the revolution will be faster.

You can imagine that the CIA would support this type of message, and since they have a history of going in and joining other 'left-wing' splitter factions to destroy movements, I wouldn't be surprised if they did the same here.

One of the most predominant ultra-leftist groups is banderra rojo. These guys are an anarchist group allied with the capitalists. So you can see why Venezuelan workers are a little pissed off!!
