How many you guys knew about PNAC(project for the new american century). It is basicly a non profit group whose goal is to promote "American global leadership." What is frightening however is it's goals for the 21st century.
They say
" we need to increase defense spending significantly if we are to carry out our global
responsibilities today and modernize our armed forces for the future;

• we need to strengthen our ties to democratic allies and to challenge regimes hostile to our interests and values;

• we need to promote the cause of political and economic freedom abroad;

• we need to accept responsibility for America's unique role in preserving and extending an international order friendly to our security, our prosperity, and our principles."

Basicly we need to increase military spending so we can force our values on the world. Even worse however are the founding fathers. These include the likes of Jeb Bush, Dick Cheney, I. Lewis Libby, Donald Rumsfeld, and Paul Wolfowitz.
here is a link to their website and "statement of princibles

If you're interested in PNAC, I'd very seriously recommend David Harvey's The New Imperialism. It is a Marxist exploration of the recent rise of neo-conservatism, the actions of the Bush Administration, and the economic reasons for these developments. It's the only intellectually commendable analysis and condemnation of the Bush regime I've ever read (my being so tired of the liberal bourgeois "Bush is t3h devl!!!!" trite), and Harvey's theory of accumulation by dispossession as being a predominant mode of capitalist economics is one of the most important contributions to Marxist economic theory in the last twenty years, IMO.

The mass-market paperback is pretty cheap. It's a seriously good investment. And just to show how much you need to read it if you're interested by PNAC, if you can't afford it, I would consider shipping you my copy if you could cover the postage. Lemme know.

Yeah, if it wasn't scary enough on the top... maybe you should take a look at some of their more well-known current members:

John R. Boltman (U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations)
Richard Cheney (U.S. Vice-President)
Zalmay Khalilzad (U.S. Ambassador to Iraq)
Donald Rumsfeld (U.S. Secretary of Defense)
Paul Wolfowitz (President of World Bank)
Jeb Bush (Former U.S. President, current governor of Florida)
Gary Bauer (Former U.S. Presidential candidate, President of 'American Values')
Steve Forbes (Multi-Billionare, Publisher of Forbes magazine)
Aaron Friedberg (Director of the Center of International Studies)
Dan Quale (Former U.S. Vice-President)

and others, including professors at such places as Yale, and Harvard.

uhh, Jeb hasn't been president yet, or even run (although he might eventually), he is the more intelligent brother to the preident, and the governor of the wanna be third world nation of florida.

this however does not clear him of neo-conservative douchebaggery.

This is a dialect in itself. Orwellian doublespeak at its finest.

" we need to increase defense spending significantly if we are to carry out our global
responsibilities today and modernize our armed forces for the future;

translation:
We need to divert more public funds to the private defense industry so that we can maintain our imperial grasp on the future direction of nations all over the world.

• we need to strengthen our ties to democratic allies and to challenge regimes hostile to our interests and values;

translation:
We need to further support those regimes, democratic or otherwise, that follow economic policy as dictated by us, and provide our corporations with unrestricted rights of exploitation and profit. We need to collectively punish the populations of those countries that excercise their sovereignty and promote meaningful forms of democracy. Our interests being corporate profit, our values meaning power held by a rich minority.

• we need to promote the cause of political and economic freedom abroad;

translation:
We need to continue the attack on meaningful democratic institutions world wide and further promote regressive neoliberalism to concentrate decision-making in the hands of an unaccountable few.

• we need to accept responsibility for America's unique role in preserving and extending an international order friendly to our security, our prosperity, and our principles."

Wow, this doesn't really need translating. Basically: We must have the (unique) right to interfere whenever our hegemony/profit is threatened by such nuisances as democracy and self-determination.

Any other suggested translations?

This group looks like a joke now after in the late 90's they declared that history was over, and that U$ imperialism was going to dominate the world with no real resistance or revolutions to come. Latin America has flown rigth in the face of that.

John BOLTON. Not Boltman.

He's particulary one of the most blatant and rabid of this otherwise clandestine mafia.

He's the filth spewing Western Supremacist that provides entertainment for the rest of the world in realizing the complete mess that is the United $tate$.
