Okay, I've heard a lot of People talking a lot about The Zapatists.. but never anybody speaking about who they are.

So could anyone explain who they are?
And are they good guys?

Good links, it points out exactly whats going on.

My country has recently signed a Free Trade Agreement, with no taxes for the imports now the Goverment has to get those funds from somewhere else, and they are going to rise the IVA (A tax included on every little thing we buy, from a candy to houses) its currently an 18% and they are talking about raising it.

How can a bunch of capitalist pigs sign a treatment that will make their fortune grow even more and make the working class poorer.

This is a clear example why capitalism doesnt work, well it works wonders for 2 people, but when this two people are eating caviar 100 more are dying from starvation...

If you want to get a real in depth look at the Zapatistas, try reading Basta! Land and the Zapatista Rebellion in Chiapas (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/093502879X/qid=1050907344/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_1/102-4222893-0536918) by George Collier w/ Elizabeth Lowery Quaratiello. After that, you'll pretty much be an expert.

That sounds exactly what happened in Canada. After NAFTA (North America Free Trade Agreement with the U$A and Mexico) Canada realized how stupid the government at the time was. So they imposed a GST tax (Goods and Services Tax) which is on almost everything we buy. Its at either 7% or 8% (i can't remember cause i always get it confused with the provincial sales tax). so in ontario we are paying 15% tax on almost everything we buy. its completely insane, especially since some provinces don't have any pst and therefore only have to pay the GST.

agin you're right, they help the major producers in Canada (who agreeable trade amost exclusively with the USA) but its us common/middle/lower class people who suffer. its an absurdity that must end everywhere.
