View Full Version : Hacking

As most of you know, RL was defaced by G00ns.net . Their motto is "ruining your internet experience." I say that we don't actualy do anything illegal ;) but we do learn up on hacking so that if they attack us, we can save our community ;) ;) .
I went onto their IRC, and they are such uncivilized losers. Their vocabulary consists of "fag", "ROFL", "pinko", and "shut up" (and that was BEFORE I told them that I was a member of RL). I was in the process of filing an FBI complaint, but I realized it would do us more harm than good so I dropped that idea. However, it would be a great thing that we at least knew something about internet defence so we can ward this off in the furute.
HackThisSite.org is pretty liberal, and they might be able to lend us a helping hand in securing our community; most hackers are. However, we managed to (somehow) grab the g00ns.net attention, and they will be telling their friends.
anyone with any experience in this area, please contribute! we must defent ourselves; we can't rely on the government.
Well, I don't have any hacking experience but we have friends all over the world, we can tell our friends too. I believe almost all left wing organizations would help us by giving what they have.

Learn how to program, hacking is basically learning how to break a program ;)
Python, Perl, Javascript, ASP, JSP, and other languages of the sort are good starters (I learned java first, I know perl, C, C++, C#, PHP, Python, and some others).
I think it was Wittgenstein who pointed out that if anything can be said in one language, it can be said in any language. (Maybe that was Chomsky ;))
The same goes for programming (it's all based off of C). Actually, in my opinion, it's all the same (objects are used in processes and processes are objects).
That's where you'd begin: learn a language and get good at it. Remember it's the quality of your programming skill in a language rather than the quantity of languages you are familiar with.

the g00ns are primarily a right-wing organization. They've taken down indymedia before as well. They have a very strict hierarchy (kinda like leninists ), with real programmers at the top who direct things and script kiddies at the bottom who execute attacks in unison.
That said, leave them alone. No matter what you do, a site is always vulnerable to hacking--especially of the g00ns variety, since they do little more than crack the admin password by guessing or brute force, and then redirect all URLs on the site to a page they've made. You can do absolutely nothing against the brute force method, unless you catch people in the act and block connections to the server.. which does little to no good.
The g00ns don't do "random" attacks, either. They attack websites that have, in one way or another, pissed them (or a member thereof) off. So they had a purpose with attacking revleft--for what I do not know. I'm guessing g00ns member got banned or restricted and wanted revenge. Or it may have been purely political.
In any case, don't play their games. It's fruitless, and accomplishes little more than name-calling in grammar school.

Well said comrade encephalon.
Can't we complain to someplace and get their site taken down?

Well, I browsed through the forum, and I found a user called chimx, who I'm sure was banned off this board.

SEriously don't even waste your time with those assholes. They have no real political motive its just spite. hacking theirs back just makes you as stupid. They're a bunch of kids who have way too much time on their hands. Ignore them.

If your going to hack, then hack some big capitalist corparation. I'm sorry but the "goons" experience shows how hacking in the wrong sense actually hurts the proleteriat. Fuck goons!

Slightly edited version of another post I made
According to the member list (http://www.g00ns-forum.net/memberlist.php?do=getall&page=22&order=asc&sort=username), he joined on 05-13-2006....in other words, he signed up when the site [Rev-Left] went down.
He has 4 posts which they won't allow me to look at using the "Find all posts by chimx" button....so I'm browsing the forum to see if I can find them. I doubt he's involved in the "hack".
But if I were you LoneRed, I wouldn't rule out the possibility that it was the same Government Agencies that took down the Twin Towers working in cooperation with RAAN, the Masons and the BNP that are responsible for the hacking of Rev-Left. <_<

Guess we cant do much about it and unless we had some good hackers on our side then we'd probably get fucked over attempting to attack them. Maybe it would be off some use to find some help making RevLeft more safe or get friendly with some goons and maybe find out there reason for the attack and try to deter them from attacking again.

He's made slightly more than 4 posts -> 174 actually.
Don't trawl the site looking, just use google
Then again, of course, we don't know it's the same guy.
EDIT: oops, sorry, I thought you meant on this site.
Nonetheless, just use google to search their site.

chimx2 wasn't me. that was the communist league trying to get me into trouble.
Listen. I am (or was, anyway) a part of HackThisSite, RootThisBox, and I (sadly) failed at my attempts at submitting articles to 2600 with Googlehacking attacks, prevention, and flexibility.
It is against the site rules to *ask* to hack someone, or to propose a hack. Even then, it opens you up to attack (especially political boards) if you ask about security.
But believe me, there are many comrades in the digital security scene. Most of them do not reside in America though. And during the revolution, you can be more then certain that a group of people may or may not make plans to take down certain radio, television, and phone communications. Not that I know anything about this, or support this.
All sarcasm aside though. The digital scene is on our side. 90-95% of the phreaking and hacking scene are reform liberals, and mix politics with computers quite frequently. They want change as much as we do.

chimx, I have an IRC log of you admiting that that chimx2 was you:
[2006-05-10 20:50:37] <chimx> so i made a new account and had it bounce off a yugoslavian proxy server to show to him that trying to warn me into suspension was futile

I don't really think hacking sets much swing...
but isn't it a bit silly discussing hacking a website we know will probably be checking these boards in a public forum

that is obviously a futile attempt by the communist league to get me in trouble because of my affiliation with RAAN. Shame on the CL. Shame.

chimx, you admitted to me in a PM that you were responsible for the duplicate account.
And this site does not endorse illegal activities or "hacking"; nor do we tolerate its promotion.
