Lately all of my political (and religious, actually) idealogies have changed, kinda. I used to be a die-hard anarchist but i never really knew what i was supporting. im really liberal and i hate the (US)government. now all i believe is that ultimately all sysytems of governmnet will fail because humans are inherently cruel and corrupt. Is that nihilism? or is it still anarchy?
p.s what do you say to someone when they tell you anarchy is totally chaotic and lawless and that innocent people will suffer from anarchy. I will always have a special place in my heart for anarchy and i always defend it in arguments. :)

May I suggest you try reading THIS (http://www.redanarchist.org/texts/p&d.html) and see to what degree you find yourself in solidarity with those principles. It's not about what you call yourself, it's about what you believe.

" humans are inherently cruel and corrupt"
they're not, they really arent. They're not the opposite either.
(wo)man is neither savage and cruel nor inherently good and kind to everyone, (s)he is savage when confronted with cruelty, good when confronted with kindness.
meaning
if the society you live in is completely fucked you shouldnt be surprised most people are/act like assholes because thats what a fucked society does to you.
The only true solution is to change society untill its based on solidarity and respect, instead of selfishness and humiliation.
oh
and anti flag fucking rocks :)
I feel you man. It's rough out here on the edges.

You say that humans are inherently evil? Humans are products of their environment. They are only inherently evil because society tends to be quite evil.
On the note of religion: It's usually good to see yourself moving the the agnostic/athiest side of things. It's a sign that you're maturing and seeing the truth and not giving in to superstition and lies.

I understand what you mean with the questioning of your own idealology. I had that same thing happen to me about a year ago, which was a year after i started even question american ways (Yep, kinda new, but im not foolish). I was always a strong marxist-leninist, but i believed in a lot of libertarien veiws. What i decided to do was go and reread everything ive ever read, and take notes down on it. On EVERYTHING. I am still rereading quite a few of my past books, but ive narrowed down my ideals pretty decently and feel much more confident with arguments and debates.
As for reliously...i have never truted religion, when i was a 4 year old and my parents would take me to church, i never knew what the hell they were saying, just kinda sat there. I do not count that as me being "catholic" at all. I do not support religion at all, but i do not critizise it at all. Religion is for those who choose it. But in case anyone out there is questioning religion, id suggest you read books by Stephen Hawking. Hes a genius, and you'll discover the much more scientific side to a lot of religious attributes. Though kinda depressing to feel there may be no afterlife, and that there is a possibility we will just end, it is still fulfilling for your mind.

There is no scientific side to religion. Or perhaps we have yet to find it. Either way, the obvious answer is to not believe in something until there is proof for it. And there is no proof for god. So being an atheist is the reasonable thing to do.
As for your politics, I suggest you just read around this site a little bit, and see which, if any, ideas you agree with.
And most of all, don't worry about this type of shit. You'll learn more, and reach such conclusions. It's inevitable.

I dont even know what to belive regarding religion; how can we know if there is a god/dess? how can we know if there isn't? what about an afterlife? life is just really, really confusing and tricky. And sometimes i doubt scientific explanations because; do we really even know if they are true? what if all scientific knowledge is really fake and everything we think we know to be true is really a national government coverup?
p.s. i already know i'm a little excessively paranoid ^_^
