Don't think there are many RHCP fans around this forum but thought I would post this thread to praise their new album. I fucking love it to pieces. Its awesome. I got the special boxed set on the day it came out and its been blowing me away all week.

I liked their single.
But RHCP seems way too limited as to pull a double album successfully (I have BSSM and its very long and too monotonous to "justify" it's length).
I hope Tool's new one isn't double (I don't know if it is but hopefully I doubt it is). If "Ramones" is too monotonous and it only lasts less than half an hour, I can't imagine the torture of such bands pulling out a double album in the CD era.

While BSSM is quite a legend of RHCP history, must have increased their audience dramatically. I see where you are coming from though.
I think Stadium Arcadium has more variance though. Of course, its not for everyone. I was going to suggest some songs to listen to from the new album but I can't decide, just go for any random song.

Dani California is a pretty good song, I like how I can listen to it over and over again without it growing old. Best RHCP song ever though is Can't Stop.

Meh. True they have lost their roots to quite an extent but we still have their old stuff to listen to :D
NEW ALBUM IS AMAZING.
That's all I have to say about Stadium Arcadium. I've been listening to it for 3 days straight now.

That's the best part of the video. I have a friend who got into the misfits and for a few weeks had devil locks, that was terrible.

RHCP are a great band! I keep hearing that Stadium Arcadium is a really good album, I haven't listened to it yet, but I plan to soon.

I just got Stadium Arcadium today, after having it downloaded for a couple weeks. It's my first RHCP album despite being half-aware of them for quite a while, and I really enjoy it. :)

Stadium Arcadium is, in my opinion, the best Chilis album yet. It beats the hell out of By The Way (which is a good enough album anyway) as John Frusciante can actually play guitar properly now, after having to re-teach himself after coming off heroin. Thats why the solos on the new album are so good whereas on Californication and By The Way they were shit, lol. Yeah they have really left their funk roots way behind them but isn't that a good thing? I mean, if they'd carried on with the whole funk scene and not done anything else you'd be complaining that they had no variety in their music. Change is good!
